Totally depends on what office you use to get the in country Non-O visa issued from
Bangkok requires you show that the 800K baht for the in country Non-O visa via banked money method did originate from overseas (but they seem to be flexible about this for people who had OA visas and then bounced out/back to get off them and get the in country Non-O)
Most other offices don't require you have proof of funds origin.
As far as how fast could you do it out of the country at a thai consulate via the online system; I'd say 3-5 business days IF you got your ducks in a row, applied online carefully, checked the data entered was accurate and uploaded all the required documents
Vientiane/Savannakhet, Hanoi/HCMC are all pretty fast processing for "regular" visas.
You can file a TDAC (Thailand Digital Arrival Card) from 3 days before your arrival right on down to when you're standing in the immigration hall waiting to stamp in (they have kiosks at the airports you can use)
and I think the O/P has enough information to be thoroughly confused as to their course of action, which is why they need to CHECK with the immigration office 🙂
We are done, thanx one and all for the comments, good luck to the O/P
There is no 60 day European (visa) on arrival 🙁 I think you're talking about just showing up here and getting stamped in free stamp for 60 days (called a visa exempt entry).
Since July 15, 2024 people from 90+ countries get stamped in for 60 days visa exempt.
You can extend that one time for 30 days at the immigration office serving the area where you stay for 1900baht
all I was saying is that it's basically the same criteria (aside from proof of residence) that you used to apply for the visa in the first place
I wasn't making any call on whether people should or shouldn't do in country extensions, just pointing out bouncing out/back is often the easier of the two options
Didn't mean to yank your chain...
Just curious, how many 180 day extensions have you gotten on your DTV from the immigration office ?
IF you come from a country whose embassy here still issues the affidavit of income from abroad notary letter you CAN show proof of funds in your country
Just so you're clear, the US, UK and Auzzie embassies here stopped issuing those letters back at the end of 2018 beginning of 2019
Well all you qualify to buy is a single entry tourist visa (which will give you 60 days when you arrive and you can extend for 30 more at the immigration office after you're here)
I don't think you have the validity left on the current passport to apply for a DTV
OR
Come in on a 60 day free stamp entry (if you're from one of the 93 countries that get them) then renew your passport and go get a DTV after that
