Hi, thanks for sharing your knowledge! It's useful also for me. Just one more question about my case - soon I'll get my Non-B from the local Immigration(converted from SETV), then I'd like to apply for Non O for my husband and son (also EU citizens) based on my Non-B - in Savanakhet. Do you know if they can apply for Non O with the proper documents + my 90 days Non-B? Or do they have to wait until I'll get my Work Permit and Extension? I'm confused about that. Even wrote an email to the Consulate in Savanakhet - once they said we can apply together - me for Non-B, they for Non-O (but I submitted my docs at the Jomtien Immigration and hope to get my Non-B from here). Another time they said - my dependents must have my work permit & extension. Because these two answers are totally different?! Please help me if you can. I'm confused!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking clarification on the visa application process for their husband and son, who are EU citizens, in relation to their upcoming Non-B visa. They are confused about whether their dependents can apply for Non-O visas based on the user's Non-B, especially given conflicting information received from the consulate. Comments suggest that while the dependents may need the user's work permit and extension to apply for their Non-O, they could also pursue a tourist visa as a temporary solution.

Yeap it sounds fair, but I thought I can save money, time and my nerves - Jomtien Immigration, actually ladies in room 7 - visa change - are so impolite and unhelpful, so I'd prefer to avoid them. 2 years ago I was in similar situation, just got my Non-B from Vientiane, then got my work permit, next my family went to Vientiane and got Non O (without my year extension but with work permit). In the end after I got my extension, they got it too. But as we all know the rules are still changing, sometimes it depends on the place or just the officer who is considering your case. I understand I'm a guest here and I can follow all the rules and laws if only they are clear and known! What is killing me is that everything changes here like in kaleidoscope! You can never be sure! There is no one answer for the same question in different places.

Thanks for the advice.

I think until you get the year extension they can't get the 90 day Non-immigrant visas BUT that'd be up to the individual consulate you use and you'd have to contact them to know for sure.

you need to find something to tide them over between the time you get your Non-B (july 19) and the time you can apply for a yearly extension on it (when you have 30 days or less left on it)

Send them to a thai consulate to get a single entry tourist visa now, that will get them a 60 day stamp and they can extend it inside the country for 30 more days, Then hopefully you'll ahve your yearly extension by then

And what did Jomtien immigration say about your family getting Non-O visas in country from them when you applied for your 90 day Non-B?

Jomtien Immigration said Yes, they can apply here, but it's long and difficult process. Actually they recommend to go abroad. Thay said also- they can apply after I'll get my yearly extension. This is our situation: All the 3 of us have SETV 60 days +30 days of extension valid untill 21 July(Sunday). I submitted docs. At the Immigration and got a yellow card, they said come back on 19th July maybe you'll get your Non-B or maybye Not! Maybe you'll get it on Monday 22nd or Thursday! I asked how about our visas? I heard--you can buy another 7 days here(which means 5700baht for 3 of us! ). Anyway, I hope to get my Non-B on 19th and at least on 21st my family have to leave the country. They could do 2nd border run in this year, but it's not enough time to get Non O in the country, so they are going to Savanakhet anyway eather to apply for SETV or Non-O. My conclusion is this--since they have to go abroad for a visa, may they apply fo Non O now? Or they can get only another SETV, wait until I'll get my extension and then eather go abroad or try to apply here for Non O? Thanks for any advice!
