What are the new procedures for registering the online TM30 at the Chaengwattana immigration office in Bangkok?

Update for Bangkok ONLY

They now have laptops set up at the immigration office at Chaengwattana, you can register for the online TM30 program, get a user name & password right there on the spot.

You need copies of the Thai id off the owner and the house book listing of where you stay, or if you own your own condo you need the chanote.

It's not perfect, (like no blue tooth to upload documents on the laptops) but they are trying to help people get registered to use the web-based online portal or the iPhone / android mobile phone apps..

TLDR : Answer Summary
Recently, the Chaengwattana immigration office in Bangkok has started offering the ability to register for the online TM30 program using laptops set up on-site. For registration, individuals need to present copies of the Thai ID of the property owner and a house registration book, or if they own a condo, the chanote. The process, while not yet flawless due to some limitations like the lack of Bluetooth for document uploads, marks a significant step in facilitating TM30 registrations, enabling easier future online filings without disrupting landlords.

Hi Tod. Thanks for the information. My landlord isn't willing to file the TM30 for me, even hesitates to register an online TM30 account. If i go to Chaeng wattana bringing necessary documents and register there, does it mean that i can file the TM30 online the next times with the TM30 account, without bothering my landlord any longer or going anywhere else? Thanks!

please give the username and password also to your landlord, at least when you decide to move on he can use his registration for new tenants.

nope, you can definitely DO that, I misunderstood what you were saying.

BUT know that just because you get a user name and log in, you still needed to have filed a TM30 within 24 hours of taking up residence at that address. SO you should file a TM30 in person (with your lease) and get the 800baht fine THEN apply to use the system and get the user name login with your landlords info

I am going to get my landlord's copy of ID card and house book and make an account there in Chaeng Wattana by myself. It's not okay right? Does it mean i need my landlord to accompany me to there? (i told him to create an account at home and he never does it)

You can self file a TM30 with your lease and by filling out the form ALL in your name, BUT you're not gonna get registered to use the online system without help from your landlord.

You will either have to file in person every time, OR by mail

Could you explain?

What documents are needed if the foreigner is the house owner? Will it be different ?

@Patrick ******
scan the front and back of the chanote in an A4 paper size (that chanote is like a big piece of leather-ish paper and is a strange size.. That along with your data page of your passport, your current extension, your most recent arrival stamp, your TM6 departure card and you can get a user name and temporary password issued.
Patrick *******
the Chanote is on my name only, thanks
Patrick *******
Now it’s complete, thanks
Robert *******
try again: IF you own your condo you need the chanote. This means that when it is your condo, when you are the owner when it is in your name, you take the chanote.

@Robert ******
I am the owner, my condo is on my name
Robert *******
You need copies of the Thai id off the owner and the house book listing of where you stay, or if you own your own condo you need the chanote.

This should be up and running before they started strict enforcement of the TM30. Nice for all in Bangkok but some of us have a 140km round trip to our "local" immigration office.

@Bim ******
to be honest with you only go to Mae Sai every 90 days and do TM 30 when return even after living at same address for nearly 10 yrs and have been using same immigration office since it opened 4 yrs ago and they are pretty lenient as sometimes have not reported back till well after returning but nowadays i go the next day

@Terry *********
but when you travel outside your province you better hope there is an immigration office near where you stay
Terry **********
mine is only 10 mins🥳

@Bim ******
ore 210 km 🙄

I'm sure people will still complain this is all too hard.

Can always bring a Bluetooth dongle yourself.

And since you’re already on the immigration’s network you might just be able to sneak into the database and complete the process yourself?
