You can go by a year-long, multi-entry Non-O visa based on marriage from one of the consulates that sell it which don't require proof of funds once they open back up and start selling visas again.

AND

once the country opens up and you can get in and out again.

I think you're confusing an extension with a VISA.

Extensions of stays are sold at the immigration office as "no entry" (without a re-entry permit) <- thats beause you're already IN thailand when you get a yearly extension. VISAS are sold at thai consulates as either single or multiple entry because you're not yet in thailand.

ah yeah I mean once my extension of stay expired can I go to a Thai consulate and apply for visa based on marriage as I may not be able to meet the funds required to apply for the extension
