What should we do if our grandson, an unaccompanied minor on a 30-day visa-exempt entry, has an entry stamp with only 29 days before he must leave Thailand?

Hi all

Just a quick query, our grandson arrived yesterday into BKK (unaccompanied minor - age 11) from uk on a 30day exemption, he is heading home on 25th August, 30 days after arrival, however his entry stamp looks like this? Just looking for advice as to what we should do or what will happen as we cannot go with him to Immigration he will be escorted by a Thai Airways employee.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user's grandson arrived in Thailand on a 30-day visa exemption as an unaccompanied minor and is concerned about his entry stamp appearing to only allow for 29 days. Community members clarify that the 29-day counting includes the day of entry, making the stamp valid, and reassure that children under 15 are not fined for overstays under 24 hours.

Think you got mixed up between 30 days and a month somewhere along the line when booking flights.

Moreover Tod's comment, kids under 15 yo are not fined for overstay.

That is a totally a correct visa exempt ผ.30 entry stamp

The "western count" for visa exempt entry is 29 days 😮

That's because the day you stamp in is counted as day ONE no matter what time you stamp in

The stamp is correct.

The good news is, for an overstay of under 24 hours there is no fine and all you get is a small thai language stamp next to the departure stamp saying "overstay under 24 hours fine waved"

He'll be fine..
