UK passport

On an year-multi-O visa, did our last 90 day in February just before the visa expired.

Will we need the embassy letter?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion clarifies that for a 90 day Non-O visa, you cannot obtain a 30 day extension without an embassy letter due to COVID-19 restrictions. The options available are: obtaining an embassy letter to apply for an emergency extension, applying for a 1-year Extension of Stay if eligible, or receiving a 7-day extension stamp without any action, which will require leaving Thailand by the end of that period.

Back then we were talking about you LEAVING and RE-ENTERING the country to get a 30 day visa exempt entry once all the time on that visa and the entry stamps ran out. :/

Unfortunately for you, at this time the borders are closed and you can't fly in on a 30 day visa exempt entry. :O

You leave the country you're NOT getting back in until the entry rules change. :(

Your extension options are the three I outlined earlier.

-a year by meeting the requirements

-7 days to get out of thailand by doing nothing

or

-a cannot travel due to covid-19 extension that can give you up to 30 days

You can't get a 30 day extension without the embassy letter on the visa entry stamp you have now. As Robert said,

meet the requirements and get a year extension

OR

show up without the embassy letter and get a 7 day extension denied stamp that gives you a week to get out of thailand

OR

get the embassy letter and apply for the emergency can't travel due to covid-19 extension.

Those are your options :/

What is the reason you had the Non-O visa for?

Sorry that we got our wires crossed some how but there is no 30 day extension available to you on a 90 day entry stamp off a Non-O visa :(

The ONLY extension at all that you have open now would be to get the embassy letter and apply for an unable to travel due to covid-19 extension.

If you can meet the requirements you can apply for the 1 year Extension of Stay,

Umm, news flash, there is no 30 day extension on a 90 day O visa entry :(

Except the emergency covid-19 extension you get with the embassy letter. so if you're on an O visa entry you DEFINITELY need the letter or you're only gonna get a 7 day extension denied stamp that gives you a week to get outta thailand
