Cee Keitt

I’ve been here since April this year and my original plan was not to stay this long.

I’ve gotten Covid extensions since then and I’m currently in Cambodia and I leave to go back to Thailand today for another couple months if possible.

Any advice for returning?

FYI I have 4 back and front total pages of Thai stamps . I have US passport.

I have about 14/15 pages left in passport book.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Cee Keitt shares their experience about returning to Thailand after staying longer than planned due to COVID extensions. They seek advice on requirements for re-entering the country, sharing that they have a U.S. passport with significant stamp history and a limited number of pages left. Community members provide various insights, suggesting to prepare proof of funds, proof of onward travel, and lodging details. They also recommend alternative entry points and possibly using expedited entry services.

and on that note, I think that Cee Keitt knows what's what about them trying to enter the country.

Good luck, safe travels, message a moderator after you get back (or get denied 😮 ) and we'll open this thread back up

It might really be appreciated by many if you can report back on what happens on arrival in Bangkok, step-by-step. Thanks in advance!

Cee Keitt Cee Keitt the suggestion that Tod Daniels made about getting an Escorted Service on arrival at the Airport you're flying into is IMPORTANT IMHO. The sponsor of this forum offers such a service. Suggest that you contact them and see if they can assist you with your entry into Thailand with their Escorted Service.

Good Luck 🤞

Kinda waited right to the last second to ask for advice huh? 🙁

There are three scenarios

1 - you could skate thru

2 - you could get pulled aside questioned

3 - you could get denied entry

You show proof of funds in CASH, (so at least have that)

Sadly, what you want to do here doesn't even factor into whether they let you in or not.

you might google "expedited entry" or "fast track" entry and see if you can find a service that will offer it for you.. Otherwise you take your chances, I mean at least you don't have two years of covid extensions in your passport, BUT you also didn't buy a tourist visa from the thai consulate there before you came back

Cee Keitt again, water under the bridge, you're committed to trying to get in now and if you're denied entry they'll turn you around and ship you back to Cambodia OR worst case they'll send you back to the US (country of passport origin)

I think you'll probably be pulled aside and questioned but still get in.

Good luck,

Cee Keitt and the 20,000 Thai baht must be in CASH or its exchange equal..NO BANK BOOK'... NO ATM.

AND have a flight ticket Booking to show PROOF of your departure from Thailand within 29 days of your stamped in arrival.

you can be asked for proof of onward travel in the number of days you'll be stamped in for, proof of funds (20K baht or the equivalent in CASH) and proof of lodging when you go to stamp in.

Plain and simple you did stay so whether it was your intention to stay in thailand as long as you did that's water under the bridge.

I think you'll have a better chance comin' in by land (NOT at Poipet but at Ban Laem or Ban Pakard) OR flying in to ANY airport other than Bangkok

Cee Keitt you can book a bus to Penang from Thailand online for a few hundred baht.
