First and last warning Hailey.. DO NOT HIJACK THREADS :/

Hi.

We on a one month visa and want to extend it.

Do we go the route of paying for our visas to get done by going to the immigration at Pattaya to do so..

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks information on extending their one month visa in Pattaya, Thailand. They are advised that they likely entered on a visa-exempt entry for 30 days and can extend this by visiting the immigration office in Jomtien for a fee of 1900 baht. Additionally, they are informed about the lack of penalties for children under 15 for overstaying, although it is still recommended to get extensions for them as well.

Sincere question here: what is hijacking a threat. I want to know so I donโ€™t do it. This page has been helpful to me in the past, and Iโ€™d like to continue using it as resource. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ

Good question

Thread "hi-jacking" is posting your question on a currently running thread that is only loosely related (if at all) to what you want to ask about and know.

There is no such thing as a one month visa, so I will go under the premise you showed up here without buying a visa from the thai consulate in your country and were stamped in for free on the visa exempt entry for 30 days

You can go to the immigration office that serves the area where you're staying and apply for a 30 day extension for 1900 baht.

As far as your other question do children need to extend their stamps the answer is children under 15 cannot be fined for overstay and children under 18 cannot be banned for it BUT that is not saying you shouldn't get them extensions too, just that there are no penalties if you don't. Remember though IF they go on overstay you cannot get any other visa type for them inside the country. They can overstay but not change to another visa.

In Pattaya you would go to the immigration office in Jomtien on Soi 5

So start talking to them ๐Ÿ™‚
