I'm fixin' to leave for a trip to the US today. I'll be gone until the 18th. I haven't been back to the US in almost 10 years (and haven't been outta thailand in almost 9 :O )
Try not to tear the group to pieces okay? There are a LOT of very competent members now and I think most of the questions can be answered without threads turning into a pissing match between posters.
I'll check in as much as I can, take care :)

TLDR : Answer Summary
Tod, an active group member, is departing for the US after nearly a decade away from both the US and travelling outside Thailand. He expresses hope that the group will maintain decorum in his absence and seems to be well-regarded by many in the community who acknowledge his contributions. The comments are filled with supportive messages wishing him a safe trip, sharing personal anecdotes about similar travels, and reminders about potential cultural shocks and immigration considerations.
Is it really true that you were deported for being overly helpful to people? I also heard that you were going to sneak back in via Cambodia and have a new identity Dan Todiels. I like it! Who would guess?
Good Luck Tod! I went back for the first time in 17 years... went to LA... it's not LA anymore... went to see the parents in KC... had enough after two weeks and headed back to SE Asia...
Have a safe trip and enjoy your stay. Dont forget your Re-Entry permit or you will have to Re-start the visa process again. God Bless.πππππ
Enjoy your trip , do you need a rentry visa ? or come back on a tourist visa ? is it easier to get a non O in the states or wait till you return to Thailand
Do NOT spend too much of your short time back home after so many years worrying about what's going on here. Try to stay in the present moment and enjoy it as much as you can. Whatever happens here is gonna happen whether you're here or not. Safe and happy trails to you!!! (Besides, barely two weeks is a drop in the bucket of life.)
