As of now, the 60-day visa exempt program in Thailand has not started despite previous announcements suggesting it would begin on June 1. Travelers are continuing to receive only the standard 30-day entry upon arrival. The rollout of the new program has faced delays, and rumors among travelers and on social media have caused confusion. Current discussions include concerns about visa extensions and the implications for future travel. Official confirmation from the Thai government is awaited, possibly expected in late June or early July.
I extend my 30 days exempt yesterday in chiang mai and so i was thinking exit to Laos next month and re-enter by flight in BKK instead of struggling for a visa.
Could it be possible that i get a 60 days if they apply it ?
It's funny that I found it posted on the Thai Embassy page for Canada that it was now 60 days starting June 1st. So I guess they jumped the gun as well.
If I've already done an extention for 30 days, am I able to extend again for a total of 90 days or do I need to leave and come back at the end of my 60 days?
, only one 30-day tourism extension is allowed per one entry on visa-exempt or tourist visa. If you enter on visa-exemtp, 60 days total is the length you can stay.
you gave the info that you had. I think that's the only right thing to do. Denying it all and saying that plans nor possibilities exist until something is published in the Gazette, that would instead have been wrong.
It's not entirely clear to me where this date of June 1st came from (did the journalists fill it in using their fantasy?). But if that date came from any official source, your statement of an upcoming change that would in principle take place (with some level of reservation) by June 1st, was accurate. That is then just the state at that time. If it then doesn't happen by that date, it doesn't mean that the info was not accurate. It means that the state has changed. Things can just change. In fact, I would regard a statement that nothing might happen on June 1st, after the cabinet decided that it actually will, more speculative than just relaying the update as is.
not To worry you reported The same information everyone as at The moment

Have they jumped the gun or more Thailand been slow out the gates implementing this as you would think any information and updates on requirements and dates on the .gov site will surely have come from the Thai embassy but Iโm sure in the coming days it will all become more clear
yep they jumped the gun with the date it takes effect, Good think few people actually read the travel advisory stuff from their country before they come here
Bulgarian passport holders have to buy a visa on arrival when they land here for 2000baht and it's only good for 15 days. They need to show onward travel within the days they will stamp in for, proof of lodging for the time they're here and proof of 10K baht or the equivalent in CASH
Nothing for you to apologise for really Tod youโve said from the start it hasnโt been officially confirmed and people were post wrong information. Which you verified this morning until its publish officially itโs All Wind And P*ss and thatโs the way itโs always been and youโve told the group followers that.๐น๐ญ๐บ๐ธ๐ฌ๐ง๐น๐ญ๐๐ป๐๐ผ๐ช๐ฝ
Once people come in on the 60 DAY visa exempt program are they still able to extend for another 30 days as they could before on the 30 day visa exempt stamp?
However, not many people will be applying for a single entry one once this new 60 day waiver comes into effect. If they increase the tourist visa to 90 day validity it might receive some takers.
that's correct. If I remember correctly, they said they will loose some money thru less visa sells but hope to gain through more tourists hopefully staying longer and spending their money in Thailand.
All these YouTube experts have already preached it as the gospel....it has to be implemented today because they have reported it as fact! ๐
All jokes aside, I welcome this change, just hope it will be implemented in time for my upcoming trip in September and will also include the 30 day extension option.
If not I will apply for an eVisa as I did last year. Easy enough to do albeit slightly tedious.
I've joined this group because of your and other contributors reputations on your accuracy and hard facts regarding visa advice for Thailand.
It also shows how serious you take the information you provide by making such a comment. Your knowledge has helped many people, this is just a minor bump in the road because of media, bureaucracy and over excited Farang.
yes I know you know Tod Just you proving to the Lemmings and informing them not to be shocked when they are expecting 60 and shocked when still only getting 30 ๐๐
