Are you able to apply in a different province to where you live?

Because we finally got all of my husband's documents together for his Non O as specified in this [[members only]) , as well as all the other documents our local (Nakhon Si Thammarat) immigration officer wanted, yet today he said the rules have changed and my husband can not apply for a Non O in Thailand.

Said he has to leave the country and apply at foreign Thai consulate. Is this true?

This officer has been changing the list of documents he wants for months.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses an individual's inquiry about the possibility of applying for a Non-O visa in a different province in Thailand, as their local immigration officer in Nakhon Si Thammarat stated that the rules have changed, requiring their husband to leave the country to apply at a Thai consulate instead. Respondents clarify that the local immigration office historically does not issue Non-O visas in-country, and there have been no significant rule changes regarding this process.

I do know for sure that there was NO "rule change", that didn't happen.

AFAIK the immigration office in Nakhon Si Thammarat NEVER issued in country Non-O visas

I know people from down that way who had to go to Phuket to apply for theirs

BUT

Worst case you could probably send him to the thai consulate in Penang to get a 90 day Non-O based on marriage to a foreigner who legally works ehre
