Please do not hi-jack threads :O

Sven Rathmann

for clarification: I came with a Non-O Visa 90 days single entry (retirement) here to Thailand and proofed the financial requirements (state pension) to Thai Consulate in Germany!

If I want to extend the Visa now here in Thailand for 1 Year - do I need to transfer 800,000.- to a Thai bank account or Not, because I proofed the financial requirements already before?

Either to Dave I only want to spend max 6 months in Thailand!

Thank you ๐Ÿ™!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks clarification on whether they need to deposit 800,000 THB into a Thai bank account to extend their Non-O visa, despite having previously proven their financial requirements for a retirement visa. A comment mentions that obtaining a visa from a consulate differs from extending a stay in Thailand, and suggests contacting the German embassy regarding the issuance of an affidavit of income, which could potentially serve as proof of funds for the extension.

Do not confuse getting a visa from the thai consulate in your country before you come here with getting an extension of stay inside the country at the thai immigration office.

They are totally and completely different things

Contact the german embassy here and see if they issue the affidavit of income from abroad notary letter (some country's embassies here do some don't)

IF they do you can use that letter as proof of funds

IF they don't you need to put 800K baht in a thai bank account in your name only for 2 months before you apply for the year extension based on retirement.
