Hi guys, hoping for some advice. I am getting close to the time to extend my retirement non O for 12 months. I have some holidays planned for October. I am wondering if I should start the process before or after I come back for hols (inside Thailand) do immigration hold on to your passport for any time ? If I apply beforehand and they give me a date to return is it negotiable? Can I ask for a date after I return ? (Still before my current extension runs out ) thanks 🙏
I applied for a DTV in Ho Chi Minh city. Got approved after 16 days as there were holidays. After I got my approval, my spouse applied for it. Now, the visa hasn't been approved yet and our Vietnam visa is expiring in a few days. What should we do if my spouse didn't get the DTV visa before the Vietnam visa expires.
Hello all I was in Thailand for two months last year. . I was there again this year for seven weeks. I am going back in February next year for possibly three months. When I'm there I am continuing with dental treatment I had in June July this year.
What is the best way to do this please for three months stay. Do I simply extend for an extra 30 days at my local immigration office in Hua Hin?
Good day folks. I have just had a call from my neighbour who is in a bit of a panic. He has lived here in Thailand for 20+ years on a retirement extension. He has been married to a Thai lady all this time but chose the retirement extension option over the married option to minimise paperwork.
Last month he went back to the UK for some medical tests and this procedure will run to the end of October, then he will return to Thailand.
Unfortunately he has made the schoolboy error of not getting a re-entry permit. The day he went to get it at immigration here in Hua Hin the place was closed for a holiday. It totally slipped his mind on departure at Suvarnabhumi so he now finds himself visa-less so to speak.
My question is ...... what does he need from the Thai Embassy in London so that he can kick-start the whole extension process when he gets back here at the end of October?
He still has his 800k in the bank here untouched for many years. He has no medical insurance in Thailand if that affects his options. I also suspect he will change to the married extension this time.
I come to Thailand each year. Next year I want to spend 3 months there in the Australian winter. This year I investigated extending my stay but changed my mind when the cost of changing the date of my return ticket was $AUD680, much more than half the total cost. Next visit I intend to stay 2 months visa free then extend a month. What are the best options for an outward/return ticket? It's obviously financially punitive to change the date and I assume that if I am asked to show an outward flight, a return ticket dated 3 months from arrival would not be accepted. There is always the option to buy a cheap throwaway ticket (if such now exists) to KL or a refundable one. Any thoughts on the best option?
So I'm an American in the Bangkok area and I'm coming up on my 60 days and want to get a 30 day extension. So I'm seeing the forms I think I need to fill out but am unsure if the condo where I'm staying should provide any info on where I'm staying or if i need to fill out something myself.
I know I need a passport photo and a copy of my passport to provide to immigration.
I was hoping that someone who's done this could give me a little guidance.
