Hi, I’m visiting Thailand from Australia and did an e-visa for 84 days (expires early October) but at the airport my stamp at the airport has an expiry date of 10 Sept and hand written notation saying evisa. Do I need to worry? Thanks
I got my non o visa based on marriage on the thai e-visa website via London UK.
I’m so very happy about this and also grateful from all the feedback I have had from you all to help me.
Thank you to you all.
My visa says it’s valid from July 13th to October 10th 2025.
And it’s got me thinking.
I planned to return on September 25th 2025 at the end of my season for several months.
However I thinking of a quick trip earlier as I’ve mentioned in my previous posts I work in the tourism industry which is very slow in the UK with sales down this year.
Hence I have no work from July 30th to August 17th 2025.
And I have already booked flights to return at the end of the season to enter Thailand on September 25th 2025 to stay for 6-7 months.
Can I do the following as I don’t want to wait in London without work for 17 days from July 31st to mid August & I’d rather be with my wife.
Fly to Thailand entering on July 31st 2025 for 2 weeks of August.
Apply for my visa extension in those first 2 weeks of August.
Then fly back to the UK to work with a reentry permit.
And return to Thailand entering on September 25th 2025 for my long stay.
When do I have to season the 400,000baht in a thai bank account?
(I already have an SCB bank account now)
Is it on the day I plan to I arrive back August 31st?
Or should it be before that in my case?
Also an extra question after I arrive back on September 25th 2025 can I use another re-entry permit to visit my mother who has been unwell in Australia in mid October as it is her and my birthday then?
My mom who’s on tourist visa (60 days) wants to extend her stay for another 30 days. We are currently in Samut Sakhon. Is it possible for her to extend in Samut Sakhon Immigration? We just moved to the province so we’re not familiar with the rules/procedure.
I was supposed to extend my extension of stay based on marriage a month ago, but I messed up the seasoning of funds due to some banking fees and card charges and the amount dipped under the 400k.
Since I didn't have much time to plan an alternative I flew out, stayed in another country for a few days and flew back in on a visa exempt entry.
I then started to prepare the documents for my new initial Non-O. I followed a document that is available on the immigration website and it indicated that I pretty much just need the 400k in the bank on the day of the application.
When I went to the Chiang Mai immigration office to ask for their list of requirements, they gave me a paper that lists "proof of saving transfer from abroad".
So which is it? Do they really require this proof of funds transferred from abroad? My funds have been in Thailand for a few years now and have been transferred between bank accounts, so proving that isn't really an option now.
Can't really see any other way forward other than sending it out and back in again. Thoughts?
Another one. The document online says I should apply at least 15 days before my current stamp expires, whereas the Chiang Mai immigration's document says "at least 15 working days" quite the difference.
I’m on a 60 day extension of a 90 day non o. Need to apply for a 1 year marriage extension. My 2 month funds seasoning is up on the exact day my leave expires. Is it still possible to apply? Someone told me need 14 days left on leave when applying. Thanks in advance for any info.
Hi all, just thought I'd put something up here about my experience opening a bank account today. I am currently in Thailand on a Non O based around my son, this is my first Non O and I needed the bank account to apply for my visa extension. TLDR Bangkok bank wont give you a bank account on an initial Non O since the rule changes so use KBank for new accounts!
The first branch I visited was the Exchange Tower Bangkok bank. The lady I spoke to wasnt very polite and it was clear she didn't want anything to do with me. She asked for a copy of my passport, my driving license, my sons birth certificate, my girlfriends ID and a copy of my sons passport. When I showed her printed copies of all of this she told me I needed a letter from a UK embassy that confirmed my passport was truly my passport. At this point I thanked her for her time and left.
The second branch I visited was the Bangkok bank opposite Sukhumvit Soi 11. This was a very different experience, the lady was very polite and started to process my application until she noticed the stamp in my passport was only for 3 months. At this point she explained that with the recent changes to Thai banking, Bangkok bank will no longer give bank accounts to anyone who hasn't already extended their visa. Basically anything less than 4 months and the banks policy is to refuse you.
The third and final branch I went to was the Kasikorn Bank in the Two Pacific Place building in Sukhumvit, just a short walk from the Nana BTS station. The lady was very helpful, only required to see an electronic version of my visa, an original passport, sons birth certificate and my girlfriends national ID card. I was only in the branch for about 30 minutes and I left with a new account, a functioning app on my phone and she even gave me a little tour of the KPlus banking app before I left.
I've been in Thailand and my third month is approaching at the end of July.
