Another couple questions for those who have recently been granted an O-A visa via Los Angeles Consulate.

Q1. Did you have an outbound flight booked from Thailand when you submitted your application? (I only have inbound booked as I hope to stay one year).

Q2. How long did you have Thai accommodations booked for your application? ( I want to stay in hotel for 10 days then move into a condo rental. I only have the 10 days booked).

Q3, any and all input on O-A application and subsequent extension appreciated!

Need to transfer 400k for my nonO extension based on marriage through WISE.

Malaysian bank regulations stated that max per transfer not more than MYR30k per/day = +-227k Baht.

Would it be a problem if I make it into TWO transfer of 200k Baht per/day?

And, reason I should choose long terms living expenses right, as to mark it as international transfer, to Kasikorn Bank in this case.

Thanks 🙏🏻

I’m planning to come to Thailand in January. Should I come on a tourist visa I get here or should I come without a visa and then try to extend it to 90 days? My plan is to turn my visa into a long-term marriage visa without having to leave the country in doing sois this possible?

Hello, I have a question regarding DTV digital nomad visa extension.

Instead of going to the immigration office and losing a lot of time, can I just leave the country and enter again? 🤔 Does that „reset” my 180 day? Or would I need to show all the documents (required for visa extension) anyway when I cross the boarder next time? 🤔

Hi guys,

This is a follow-up to my previous post here:

[members only]/?

---

7/8 – 6:45 AM

I entered Thailand by road from Malaysia via the Bukit Kayu Hitam / Dannok border checkpoint.

Cleared Malaysian immigration with no issues. Activated my Non-O visa using my passport and a printed eVisa (just regular A4 paper 😆). Everything was smooth and hassle-free. The Thai immigration officer even welcomed me and wished me a great stay in Thailand.

---

8/8 – 1:00 PM

Visited the immigration office in Hat Yai to request for residence certificate.

They asked for the original and a photocopy of my eVisa, TM30, passport (front page and Non-O stamp), and the completed application form. I requested two copies of the residence certificate — one for banking and one for driving license/vehicle purchase purpose. Yes you need 2-3 copies.

Waited for about 20 minutes, and everything was done. No passport-size photo, rental agreement, or payment required.

Bonus — the super friendly officer asked if I needed the visa extension checklist, gave it to me in both Thai and English, and even passed me two application forms to prepare in advance. She told me to return if I needed help any help especially on bank account matters. Kudos to Songkhla Immigration!

8/8 – 2:30 PM

Headed to Kasikorn Bank on Level 2 of Central Festival Hat Yai.

Told the staff at the front that I needed to open an account for visa extension purposes. She gave me a queue number, and I only had to wait for one person ahead of me.

The officer attending to me was very polite and professional. She asked for:

- My passport

- eVisa

- Rental agreement

- Kor Ror 22

- Marriage certificate (from my home country)

- Residence certificate

- Phone number

She made photocopies, asked me to sign each page, took photos of all documents, and submitted them to their HQ (I believe). After a short wait, she proceeded to open the savings account for me.

She downloaded the K+ app and set it up on my phone.

Deposited 1,000 baht + 400 baht for the upgraded debit card.

After everything was set, she introduced some of the bank’s services like PA insurance, mutual funds, and fixed deposits — which I politely declined, mentioning I’d return when I’m ready.

She also explained that I could apply for a credit card by pledging a 1:1 amount in an FD (e.g., 50K baht FD = 50K credit limit).

She gave me a SWIFT transfer slip, mentioned she wasn’t familiar with Wise, and recommended using SWIFT for international transfers. Before I left, she said to come see her later for the extension support letter and handed me her name card.

All done in about 30 minutes, plus some casual chatting.

I left with a new savings account and debit card, and honestly, everything went so smoothly — from eVisa, to immigration, to banking — I feel incredibly lucky.

All this completed in just 3–4 hours total, in a single day.

Next up: Funding 400k Baht and let it seasoned for 2 months & Thai driving/motorcycle license and vehicle purchase.

Till then…

(Photo taken by my wife via FaceTime 🤭 and YES I went all by myself)

I'm an Offshore Worker on a 28/28 day rotation I have previously travelled in and out if Thailand every 28 days on visa exemption and never had an issue but that was over 10yrs ago. Currently I travel to Thailand 3 or 4 times a year again on visa exempt and still never had an issue but I am reading more and more where multiple entrants are getting questioned and sometimes turned around, I do see that a lot of these are usually staying for the 60 days and applying for the extra 30.

My question is are there still rig pigs travelling in and out every 28 days on visa exemptions and not having any problems as Im considering doing that again so it would be 6 or 7 entries a yr.

Hello! I wanted to have your opinion on my situation, it would be helpful if some of you could share your experiences

I came to thailand on May 2nd and benefited from a 2 month visa exemption

On May 17th I had to come back to my home country (France) and came back on May 21st.

When I came back, a new stamp has been done on my passport so I have been given a second visa exemption until August 21st

In September, I will go to Vietnam to apply for my DTV Visa

But in the meantime, next week, I will go to Singapour (come back on August 18th so before my visa exemption expires)

I’m thinking maybe that could seem suspicious to immigration agents

1) Do you know if I can be granted a visa exemption a third time?

2) Should I go to the immigration next week to get a visa exemption extension (+1 month)? In your experience, is this easy to get and how long does it usually take to wait at the immigration (will I be done at 12 if I get there when it opens)?

I would appreciate your advice regarding my upcoming Guardian Visa extension. I am currently on my first-year extension, and for last year’s application, I submitted a consular legalized birth certificate as proof of relationship.

Could you please confirm whether I can re-use the same document for this year’s extension, or if I need to obtain a newly consular legalized version? If so, how long such certified documents are considered valid.

Thank you so much🙏
