Went to Kasikorn bank yesterday and got my letter from them and my updated pass book after 1 transaction and my bank statement. 30 mins and no problems. Today I went to immigration for the purpose of obtaining my years extension of stay following on from my non o visa. 3 hours waiting in the queue and 30 mins for the immigration officer to process the paperwork. No problems. No Agent used. MEV also attained. Everything went smoothly and now sorted. Just info for Everyone , if you do things correctly, it's a doddle. Good luck to all.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user shares their successful experience in obtaining a one-year extension of stay following a Non-O visa, detailing their visit to Kasikorn bank for necessary documents like a bank letter and updated passbook, followed by their visit to the immigration office. They emphasize that the process was smooth without the assistance of an agent and advise others on how to approach the immigration process effectively. Several comments raise questions about specific immigration offices, requirements for bank letters, and the potential for upcoming changes in visa regulations.

I never have a problem. All simple. Make appointment. Show bank statement. Sign a couple of forms. Max 30 mins. Cost 1900 baht. No agent. So easy

I thought the letter has to be on the day you go.

Has that changed. Would be a lot easier if they give it 24 hr. Or next day.

that's probably immi office dependent. In the list of requirements from Udon Thani which I use it clearly says the same day.

Would be so much easier if 2day or as I remember 1 week 13 years ago.

yeah it takes time in the bank - can't get to immi before they close for lunch - takes many hours before we are home again. The day before would be good.

yeah it takes some time 😕 most of the printing can be done in advance though. Only bank certificate and last day transaction missing and the bank does that for you 🙂

I thought bank letter and bank book update needed to be on the same day of visa extension? Did they change the rules?

I think it is same day at the Buriram Chang Arena office, but the wait time is usually between 5 - 25 minutes.

not in Hua Hin. You can do all the bank paperwork and passbook updates the day before

I think that the smaller and quieter immigration offices you can do it in one day. Hua Hin is busy and banks don't open until 11:00 am. You may not be able to do it on the same day. That's why there is some leeway I presume ? Just a thought

Sakon Nakhon requires same day. “Come back tomorrow” means “get a new letter from the bank”.

It may have been a doddle this year but it could just as easily be a dingleberry next year.

Gosh, I did not mean to get anyones knickers twisted by pointing out that "if you do things correctly, it's a doddle" is not actually the determining factor for a smooth experience, although it is certainly useful. Actually I had never heard the word doddle previously and it amused me to contrast it with the word dingleberry.
