Have been approved for Non O retirement visa, traveling over end of May. My passport got damaged and I have had to order a new passport in Dublin Ireland. Do I have to advise London embassy who issued the visa non O or do I just show the two passport on entry. My new passport number will differ from the application.
Currently I'm staying in Thailand on a tourist visa (visa free with my passport) and we got married 1,5 week ago. I tried to apply for the Non-O visa at one of the immigration offices in the area of Bangkok, but they told me I need a Thai bank account in order to apply. The ironic thing is that I can't open a Thai bank account without a Non-O visa, so it can't be more contradictive than this.
Anyway they told me I should apply from outside Thailand at the online E-visa portal and they require a passport stamp in order to show proof of current location. I just remember that for example Indonesia doesn't stamp passports anymore and I'm not sure either about Malaysia these days. Laos and Vietnam are always an option for sure (I know they give stamps), but we prefer to travel to Malaysia or Indonesia.
So any advice on this matter is more than welcome guys. Has done something like this before in order to apply for a Non-O visa online outside his home country? And if yes, which country is the most suitable one?
Also more important after what I mentioned about stamping the passport. What kind of evidence did you add in the application where they ask for 'document indicating current location'? And what if the country doesn't stamp your passport? Can it also just be a hotel reservation or something?
For those that have been approved for DTV. What did you put for your “flight number” and “accommodation in Thailand” if you had no flight/accommodations schedule!?
Excuse me if this has been asked before, I'm unable to find anything. When applying for a DTV can you specify a date in the future you wish it to start or is it activated when you arrive in Thailand.
Can I apply now, Feb to arrive in Thailand in October?
Hi everyone, I’m feeling stressed and a bit confused, so I wanted to ask for some advice.
I recently applied through an agent, (recommended by a friend) for the DTV.
Before paying they said absolutely all the procedure and payments were online transactions.
Once I paid them and the 6 months cooking school, they said I should pay the embassy fee in person.
This was initially something I asked and they said very clearly that was no need to visit the embassy.
Im in India and should take a flight to reach Mumbai.
I paid my monthly rent where I live and though they only spoke about just paying in person, now they suggested me to stay for a couple of weeks in Mumbai till the procedure is finish.
I tried to call Mumbai embassy and the number I can find online doesn’t exist.
The agents can not provide a proper number.
They also mentioned about a case of someone who was granted a 6 months visa at this consulate instead of 5 years, after paying a 6 months soft power. So they encouraged me to pay one year soft power.
I didn’t…
Did anyone have a similar experience? How is about the embassy payments?
Does anyone have a contact of Thai Mumbai consulate?
I would really appreciate your comments .
*half an hour ago the agent said that they will refund their fee.
He didn’t mention about the soft power payment I made.
However, being in India and having to start again, what do you suggest me?
Do I need the soft power if I do it myself and should I travel to Thailand and then leave to Vietnam or Laos to go on with the process? How many days can take?
I have a question for those who got a DTV visa and went to Thailand. Can I go to Thailand from the United States with a one-way ticket without having a return ticket? Does airport employees force you to have a return ticket even though you have a visa? Please share your experiences.
Hi everyone, I have a multiple entry tourist visa (used once) at the moment. I’m planning to apply for the DTV visa as a remote worker at the end of the month and from what I’ve seen on here applications take about 2 months and some weeks to process at my embassy. (My visit visa took 1 month) however, I have a friend who wants to meet up in Thailand in April. Will I be allowed in whilst the DTV is still processing? Or will they think that I’ve come in to work whilst waiting? I’m also considering holding off on the application till after the April trip.
If we stay in Thailand for 90 days with appropriate tourist visa, and we leave for several months to travel to other countries, can we return to Thailand the same year or do we have to wait a certain amount of time to return and visit again? TIA.
