Tod Daniels I have been living in Thailand for 15 years on a retirement visa, I am married to my Thai wife for almost 30 years. When we came into Thailand I am tended to apply for a marriage visa but Suan Plu told me to do a retirement visa instead. So now under the new rules I am going to try to secure a marriage visa.
HE also posted he was told as of February 3, 2019 you do need a season Thai bank account in the amount of 800,000 baht plus proof of over 65,000 baht per month coming into Thailand.

Initially, they obtained a retirement visa based on advice received at Suan Plu, but are now looking to switch to a marriage visa under the updated regulations. They mentioned needing a Thai bank account with at least 800,000 baht and proof of monthly income exceeding 65,000 baht as of the new rules effective from February 3, 2019.
