TLDR : Answer Summary
The term 'visa run' is often confused with 'border bounce.' A visa run involves leaving Thailand to obtain a visa from a consulate in another country. Meanwhile, a border bounce is when you briefly exit Thailand to another country and return to obtain a new entry stamp. It's noted that individuals from 51 countries are allowed to perform two visa-exempt entries by land within a calendar year.

You are getting your terminology mixed up I think

A "visa run" is when you go to a thai consulate in another country and BUY a visa for thailand. You can go how ever you want to go get a new visa because when you enter the country you HAVE a visa in your passport.

A "border bounce" is when you go to the border, stamp out of thailand, stamp in and out of another country and then stamp back into thailand usually to get a new visa exempt entry stamp.

People from 51 countries can get TWO 30 day visa exempt entries by land in a calendar year (Jan 1 - Dec 31).

it is possible to get TWO 30 day visa exempt entries by a land crossing in a calendar year.

So yes, if you wanted to, you could bounce two times at the end of a year and then once the year rolled over (after Jan 1) you could bounce two more times. BUT that still is just TWO per calendar year.

So it's possible to get two border bounces end of one year and two start of next year?
