Hello. I hope you can help me. I am just beginning the process of applying for the retirement visa.

I need clarity around the 800k baht and the health insurance.

I understand that you need the money in the bank here or there, but how long must the money be in the account prior to application?

Is there a requirement for how long the money was being held in that account?

Also the health insurance, is there a requirement for how long you have to have it in place prior to application?

TLDR : Answer Summary
In the context of applying for a retirement visa in Thailand, it is important to clarify the financial requirements related to the 800,000 baht as well as the health insurance prerequisites. Specifically, applicants need to know how long the 800,000 baht must be held in a Thai bank account prior to application, as well as any stipulations for the health insurance coverage duration.

as far as the health insurance it specifically states on that link

"the applicant must be medically insured for the entire period of stay"

First day of insurance should line up with first day of new visa. Not easy

So if I get it just before I leave that would be sufficient. Thank you for your help. Im sure I will have more questions along the way. Thanks for accepting me into the group. This is my first time leaving the country so I am new to everything. Wish me luck!โค

If your profile is to be believed and you are in California you need to read the requirements on the website of the thai consulate in Los Angeles for the requirements for that O-A (retirement) visa here

okay, I read when you answered the questions to join the group you were talking about getting a year-long, multi-entry Non-immigrant Type O-A (Long Stay) visa from the thai consulate in your country BEFORE you come here.

So lets go with that assumption
