You can show up on the 60 day visa exempt entry stamp, get the 800K baht in your account then apply FIRST for the 90 day Non-O visa for 2000baht at the immigration office, then wait until you have the funds seasoned 2 months and apply for the year extension for 1900baht
You could get the Non-O visa from the thai consulate in your country before you come here. THEN apply for the extension after the 800K baht has been in your account for 2 months
Getting the 90 day Non-O visa before you come here would save you two trips to immigrations (applying for the 90 day Non-O and then going back to get it in your passport 2 weeks later)
Yep the 800K baht has to be in a thai bank account in your name only for 2 months before you apply for the year extension..
(NOTE: in Jomtien immigrations the 800K baht has to be in your account for 2 months before you apply for the initial Non-O visa as well)
I would get the 90 day Non-O before you come here as then it's "out of the way" and you can concentrate on getting the 800K baht in the bank and letting it season the 2 months required so you can apply for the year extension.

TLDR : Answer Summary
David Hayes discusses the process of obtaining a 90-day Non-O visa while preparing to stay in Thailand with a 60-day visa exempt entry stamp. He suggests applying for the 90-day Non-O visa from his home country to avoid multiple trips to the immigration office and emphasizes the necessity of having 800,000 baht in a Thai bank account for at least two months before applying for the one-year extension of stay. Other commenters add insights about seasoning funds and challenges in opening a bank account with a short-term visa.

yes, I have received reports that since February 1st, not even agents can open a Thai bank account to people on tourist entries any more. Somebody was sitting in the Tik Tok agent office yesterday and witnessed them turning people on tourist visa who wished to open a bank account, away . . . it is bad news!
i had a report from a friend yesterday who converting from Visa Exempt to Non Immigrant O in Jomtien. He was told the funds need to be seasoned for 3 months.
I am not saying he wasn't told that but he WAS told bad information ๐
AFAIK only Jomtien has that wacky "season the 800K baht 2 months" before you apply for a Non-O visa, no other office does that. You just need the funds IN the account on the day you apply for it
I understand and as such put a plan together that he would meet Jomtien wacky rule. Now he is going to extend his visa exempt stamp by 30 days in the final 7 days of that stamp, another Jomtien special rule.

For me, I think Iโll just make it super easy and before I leave here Iโll just transfer the เธฟ800,000 in my Bangkok Bank account. The money is just gonna sit there forever anyway so doesnโt really matter thank you for all your help. I appreciate it.
could put the 800k in a Bangkok Bank Fixed account and at least make some meagre interest on it. Plus itโs easier for Bank staff and immigration to review financials when it comes one year in. Just a suggestion.
yes that is what I did when I was there last. I got a separate account for that money so it does gain a bit. Thank you for the help.

I would get the 90 day Non-O visa from the thai consulate before you come as it gets you "ahead of the curve" showing up on a Non-Immigrant visa, rather than comin' in free stamp and starting the process from square one after you're here
