Here's something :O It's the first Non-Immigrant Type O-X visa I've seen issued :) They are real, they're just hard to come by due to the requirements.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Non-Immigrant Type O-X visa is a long-stay visa that is not commonly issued due to stringent requirements. The visa allows for a stay of up to five years, but applicants must maintain specific financial conditions, such as having a minimum deposit in a Thai bank account. Discussions also highlight the annual reporting requirements to immigration, where applicants must present their financial statements and adhere to Thai laws regarding their visa status.

If you have high deposit on Thai Bank account or have letter of your pension, you can try to apply non-o-x at Thai embassy in your country. I have seen it from Thai embassy in Australia, England and USA

What's the story behind that extremely short list of countries that are elegible for it? Why only these few countries? Anyone?
Biff *******
I bet even the people who decided which countries were on that list couldn’t tell you why.

I doubt anyone knows really :/

It reads you cannot touch it the first year. The second year it cannot drop below 1.5 million but go's onto to say, every year you need to report to immigration for an examination of the required documents?

Here's one not to miss in the fine print for a withdrawal of the visa. I guess they want to see your bank account statement every year.

– the sum of money money in said account was spent outside Thailand.

Thanks Tod. To be honest, I never dug too deep into that one. I stopped at the requirement of needing to sit in front of some panel telling them what I had to offer 😂

, there's only one visa that doesn't require 90 day reporting and that's the 4 year SMART visa.
Ron *******
Everybody, no matter what visa does 90 day reports if your here 90 days.

Forget your report and it's a 2000 baht fine. That's it. Wether not doing a report would be enough for them to withdraw the visa, I've no idea.

I guess the yearly check up on the anniversary date of the visa includes checking you've not sent of the money outside of Thailand and that you continue to have a Thai company health insurance.

I would assume that even on a 10 year investment visa they would want to see yearly that you've either not cashed the bond in or sold the qualifying property?

in the teakdoor thread the guy who got the visa said he has to do 90 day reports, plus a personal visit once a year. So I guess they’ll check his financials yearly, and also check he’s been doing his 90 day reports? I’m not sure what would happen if he ‘forgot’.
Ron *******
It doesn't say even what the financial requirement is each year they want too see at year 2 too 5.

If I was going to do it I would put 3 million in a time deposit and simply not touch it. If you can do that, I guess it's not a bad visa to have.

I think you need to have the application spot on if your going to do it as it looks like the $400 application fee isn't refundable.

I wanna know how they know you need to report. I believe the visa gets you stamped in for a completely new year every time you enter (like an O-A visa does).

There'd be no reason to go to the immigration office because the visa is good for 5 years of unlimited entries...

I think they haven't worked the bugs out of this visa yet.

Truth be told I doubt they're going to sell more than a handful of them anyway

Oh it's NOT my visa :O I got it off a post from the teak door forum here

The person who got the visa S Landreth posted a picture of it and then further down went over the insurance company they used too;

Here's their post

Tod, can you comment on the insurance choices you had and which one you chose?

If I could keep the money in a US bank account like I do with the non imm o-a multi entry visa I get each year, I would go for it.

If my uncle was a woman, he would be my aunt. It's about as relevant.

You can't, they are very strong on it having to be in a Thai bank. You could get around 1.5% on it.

>A copy of bank statement (from Thailand financial institutes only) and a letter of guarantee from the bank with bank’s contact information showing a deposit of the amount equal to and not less than 3 Million Bahts, Please note that such minimum amount must be maintained at least 1 year after receiving the visa or A copy of bank statement (from financial institutes located in Thailand only) and a letter of guarantee from the bank with bank’s contact information showing a deposit of the amount equal to and not less than 1.8 Million Bahts and proof of annual incomes of not less than 1.2 Million Bahts (Once the applicants enter Thailand, they must have accumulated money deposited in Thai bank located in Thailand not less than 3 million Baht within 1 year.)

I saw them advertised at my local im office in Prachinburi.

The ‘other useful info’ makes interesting reading. Can volunteer. Money can be taken from bank account but has to be in the bank at the end of year. Read correctly?
