I am an Australian and was approved for a DTV in September. I received the approval email with QR code, however I have been unable to travel to Thailand since. The application process stated that you should only apply for a DTV if you will be arriving in Thailand within the next 3 months (which I now won't). Will they cancel my DTV if I haven't used it? Does it need to be "activated" within a certain period after obtaining it?

Is this really a common thing? I have multiple accounts from interest accounts, to savings, to investments.

Unfortunately over all the accounts, none of them for six months will show 500,000 baht. But joint together, there is a lot more than 500,000 baht in my currency.

Is it going to be a problem?

This seems more like a depends on the situation question, but in the middle of November I was denied coming back into Thailand after a flight to Vietnam over the weekend for a visa run. Too many times coming in and out under the tourist visa apparently 🙄

Anyway, they didn't really give me any confirmation on what the result would be for my next entry, and my expectation is to try again in March to set myself up for Songkran. Does anyone have any experience like this or could provide guidance?

My main issue is if I fly to Thailand from the US, apparently they have to send you back to the country you came from which would be an expensive, long flight back. So I'm trying to avoid that situation. I might fly to the Philippines first, but like I said just checking if anyone has some insight. Thanks 🙏

hello - on the 500k bank statements requirement for 3 months, would anyone be able to provide more detail?

Do you have to evidence having that amount the whole time throughout the month? Let's say for instance if you started the month with that amount of money, spent some, lent them to a family member, and then ended the month with the 500 K balance.

Or do they need to see 500 K consistently in the account all month

Asked to submit further docs (hotel booking - done) and 6 months of statements. Done but one account I'm using only provides statements monthly, so December's won't be available to download and send until 1st Jan. I provided 01/06/24-30/11/24 inclusive across 6 statements for that account.

Been asked for a further document 'proof of ending balance updated till the present'

I wondered about using screenshots showing the amounts are still there. Has anyone done this in response to this request and got any experiences to share please on whether that was acceptable in your case, or better to wait till 1st Jan for the full statement?

Appreciate it will be different offices/officials but still helpful to hear.

TIA

So I have the DTV approval but a bit worried about double taxation. Did they ever offer insight into how taxes would work for people who stay over 6 months?

I have been on an OX retirement visa for over a year, and just went to immigration to do my 90 day report as usual. But this time I was told that I don't have to do this every 90 days on the OX visa, I only have to do it once a year. Has this changed recently?

So he gave me a Receipt of Notification saying that the next notification is due on 7 October 2025, which is one year after my previous 90 day report. That's a little odd, he seems to have tried to correct the previous report by backdating it, but you would think it should be either one year from my entry or one year from now. Whatever his logic was, that's the date on my receipt now.

I will be leaving the country and coming back in April, and he explicitly said I only have to report again a year after my re-entry.

I just tried to find information on the web about whether things have changed, and read there is some requirement to do a "qualification check" every year, which I've never heard of before, and haven't done since I first entered on my visa 20 months ago. It doesn't really make sense as every time I enter I get stamped in for 5 more years. Is this qualification check something new too? What conditions need to be met to qualify, and what happens if I don't qualify? Do they cancel the visa even though I still have a valid entry stamp?

I suspect the immigration officer misinterpreted something and I do still need to do the 90 day report every 90 days. It seems the OX visa is uncommon and many immigration officers are unsure what the rules are. For example, I've never once received the correct date on my entry stamp, which should always be 5 years from the date of entry.

My attempt to google for answers has only raised more questions. It suspect there is no need for any qualification check, otherwise they would have demanded it when I went to do my last couple of 90 day reports.

Could someone please explain what the rules are? Should I go to immigration 90 days after I re-enter Thailand? Or can I wait at least until October 7 which is printed on my current Receipt of Notification, even though that is for my current entry?

Thanks for your help.

The Rental contracts that Visa Agents in Pattaya can 'cook up' - are they sufficient to use for Work Permit applications? The Apartment I am currently is unable to provide a rental contract that is sufficient for the Work Permit application. I'm looking for a work around. cheers-

I am asked to provide further documents, including tax returns.

The thing is that the official tax receipts in my country are not in English.

Do I need notary translation or submit original ones because they asked official ones?
