I got a hold of Vientiane, they said they're closed the 23rd but open like normal on the 26th.

ORIGINAL POSTERI just called the Ministry of Foreign Affairs office here (the people that run all the thai consulates and embassies in the world) and they said the 26th is NOT an official listed holiday. Each consulate or embassy can make up their own policy about it and whether they are open or closed.

26th Oct this year is a Thai National Holiday. Normally all consulates and embassies are closed on National Holidays, this 26 Oct is a very special day to whole of Thailand, Would amaze me if consulates and embassies are open. But we will hear from

When I called Penang the other day they said they were open next week on the 26th like normal, and all last week Vientiane has been telling people they're open like normal the 26th of next week too.
