TLDR : Answer Summary
Funds for a Thai marriage visa (Non-O) or retirement visa (Non-O) must meet specific requirements regarding their origin and maintenance in a Thai bank account. For a 90-day Non-O retirement visa, funds must be transferred from abroad into a Thai bank account in the applicant's name. For a one-year extension, there is no requirement to prove the origin of the funds, only that at least 800,000 baht has been in the account for the preceding two months. A similar rule applies to the marriage visa, where applicants only need to show the required amount has been in the account for two months, with no need to demonstrate where it came from. Furthermore, foreign women married to Thai men do not have any proof of funds requirements.

good morning .

Can he show the equivalent of a monthly income to support his visa requirements (one year statement/s)

not unless his embassy issues the income from abroad affidavit ๐Ÿ˜•

If he's from a country that doesn't issue that letter anymore (US, UK, Australia) or from one that never issued it he can't use monthly income from abroad (by transfers into his thai bank account) for the initial 90 day Non-Immigrant visa OR the first year extension. To use that you have to show the previous 12 months of incoming monthly transfers for the minimum amount.

Okay lets sort this out.

90 day Non-O (retirement)

IF you are applying for a 90 day Non-O in country at the immigration office based on being over 50 (retirement) using banked money method you MUST show that the funds were transferred into a thai bank account in your name only from abroad.

Year extension (retirement)

IF you are applying for a year extension at the immigration office based on being over 50 (retirement) using banked money method you do NOT need to show where the 800K baht comes from. Only that it's in a thai bank account in your name only for 2 months before you apply for the extension.

90 day Non-O (marriage to a thai)

IF you are applying for a 90 day Non-O in country at the immigration office based on marriage to a thai using banked money method you do NOT need to show where the 400K baht comes from. Only that it's in a thai bank account in your name only

Year extension (marriage to a thai)

IF you are applying for a year extension at the immigration office based on marriage to a thai using banked money method you do NOT need to show where the 400K baht comes from. Only that it's in a thai bank account in your name only for 2 months before you apply for the extension.

NOTE: for foreign women married to thai men there is NO proof of funds required at all, not for the Non-O or the year extension.
