TLDR : Answer Summary
The immigration offices in Thailand will be closed until January 2nd for the New Year. However, if your visa stamp expires during the closure, you will not incur a fine if you go on the first day the office reopens.

Okay, BEFORE people start panicking, IF your current stamp expires on a day the immigration office is closed (weekends OR holidays) AND you go the very FIRST day they reopen (which in this case will be the 2nd of January) you will NOT be fined for overstay and you can get your extension like normal.

Good Luck to all, have a safe and happy new year
