TLDR : Answer Summary
The Non-Immigrant Visa encompasses a variety of categories such as Non-B for work, Non-O for retirees or those with family ties, while the METV (Multi-Entry Tourist Visa) allows unlimited entries to Thailand for 60 days each within its validity period.
NON-O RETIREMENT VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES
  • Go to the Retirement Visa Section for information on requirements, including age restrictions, financial requirements, and necessary documentation.
  • For immediate assistance, contact Thai Visa Centre directly via LINE at @ThaiVisaCentre or Email them.

The Thai consulate in LA is not that bad of a consulate to deal with.

IF you met the requirements on their website when you applied for the visa you wanted you should be able to call them and change the type you wanted to what the documentation you submitted is for

Here's the thai consulate in LA's info on a 6 month METV

A Non-Immigrant Type visa is issued for a variety of reasons and has different types

A Non-B is for working, a Non-O is for being over 50, being married to a thai, being married to a foreigner that legally works here, raising thai or foreign children, or volunteering, and there are other categories of Non-Immigrant visas as well.

IF you don't fit in one of those categories you usually won't get a Non-Immigrant Type visa.

A 6 month METV <- multi-entry tourist visa is just what it sounds lik ;) A tourist visa that gives you unlimited entries to thailand for 60 days each for the validity of the visa.

What was the reason you used when you applied for the visa and what thai consulate did you use when you applied?

It's the Thai Consulate here in Los Angeles Ca. I think I filled it wrong and will call them to fix on Monday. Thanks Tod!
