ATTENTION MEMBERS:

IF you have an under consideration stamp <- meaning you applied for a 30 day embassy request extension and got the first stamp of the two stamp process you WAIT until that date comes up before you return to the immigration office to get the "extension of stay" stamp inked in.

For you people down there on the "Island of Misfit Toys" in the south that had the mobile immigration office come and cluelessly inked under consideration stamps into your passports that were dated the 25th of Oct (Sunday)

Call the Surat Thani immigration office to see if you should go friday the 23rd OR monday the 26th.

So I had gotten an 'under consideration' stamp to return to immigration on the 16th of this month. They had originally told me that I'd need to get another letter from my embassy to get another month extension (going to November 26th?). Since they now have extended amnesty to November, will I still have to get another letter from my embassy or can I just go in and they will extend my visa anyway? I am not sure what visa I currently am on. I used to be on an education visa, but the last time I went to immigration they had me fill out a cancellation form for my ed-visa.

awesome, thanks!

Oh I see. 6 oct but immigration hat yai mentioned that they cannot stamp until they get the approval from Bangkok.
Mavis *******
Go to the immigration at Hat Yai today. The officer mentioned it.

they mentioned it? When was that?

Did you go back to or call the immigration office today like your stamp said to?
Mavis *******
Can we check the status online?

only if you applied at Phuket immigration office.

What date does your under consideration stamp say you must return to the immigration office?

“Island of Misfit Toys mobile immigration” confirmed it’s okay to go on Monday 26th ☺️

@Neus *******

@Al***
my friend (with extension from embassy letter) called Koh Samui yesterday and that’s what they said. But they speak good English and are usually helpful, you can always call them ahead to make sure ☺️
Alice *********
So Koh Samui office will extend stamps putted by Surat Thani officers?

HEADZ UP PEOPLE:

this "free to stay until Nov 30" part that immigrations is offering seems to be ONLY for people who applied for a 30 day embassy letter extension from Aug 1 to Sept 26th.

It's not for people who got a medical extension, not for people who got their 'regular 30 day extension' because they hadn't gotten it before.

In fact the immigration office is sending people who have those extensions away.

It seems that the immigration office is ONLY giving that free to Nov 30 on 30 day embassy request extensions.

Yes I used. Thanks for good news. Do I need anything other than passport?

@John *******
nope, just the passport

I’m in CM. I have a 30 day extension until Oct. 26 - obtained in Sept. Do I just drive to immigration, submit passport and get another 30 days?

@John *******
IF you used an embassy letter to get the 30 day extension go there and they will adjust your stamp to Nov 30

I don't get it... Any immigration office has different rules...
Lucky *****
Sure... I asked if I can go to a different office... But not... It has to be the same one...
Lucky *****
I went to Jomtien immigration office today. They stamped till October 31st and asked to comeback on November 3rd for the second extension till November 31st...
Lucky *****
Yes, I got the under consideration stamp with an embassy letter.

and you had an under consideration stamp from using the embassy letter to apply for a 30 day extension?

I just got back from Phuket and am staying in BKK. It took 3 minutes to get the stamp at immigration and was stamped for November 30th. I fly out on Sunday to Shanghai. Thank you to the great admins and people on this board for all if the learned advice.

“Cluelessly inked” could not be more accurate. Besides that it’s sunday, they gave us all the same date!
Tara **************
I have a stamp for Sunday 11 October and Samui Immigration told me I could come on Monday 12 October no problem.

@Tara *******

Same, see ya there...

My under consideration date is today and checking status online it says Still Processing. :( Those guys must be swamped.
Wade ****
strange enough though the number I put in ended with 77 and I mine ended in 47... with logic... I should be approved too if things are done in order.... This is Thailand. haha
Wade ****
Yeah I am in phuket. I made the mistake of putting in the wrong number online and it said Approved. Then I found out after a 30min drive that I put the wrong number and was told Still Processing come back later. hahaha. This is why I hate typing on smartphones.

You must be using Phuket.. ;) They were telling people NOT to come back until the status said "approved"
