ATTENTION MEMBERS

I deleted a bunch of threads about the fact that the UK Consulate here is discontinuing their service to provide affidavit of income letters.

They will accept applications for the letter up until Dec 12th 2018.

At this time there is NO concrete news from any other consulates (and anything to the contrary is just speculation)

AND

At this time there is no change in the current police order (327/2557) that governs the requirements for extensions of stays. (and anything to the contrary is just speculation)

I would say IF you're a Brit and your extension of stay will come up in the next 6 months get your affidavit of income from the UK consulate NOW (income affidavits are good for 6 months from the date their issued).

You can get the letter by post (or you can email your documentation to them). Here is the link

Let's keep the rampant speculation OFF the group until there's something concrete from the other consulates (if they also discontinue the service) or we hear an official announcement from the immigration office.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The UK Consulate in Thailand is set to discontinue its service for providing affidavit of income letters, with the final acceptance of applications being December 12, 2018. Currently, no other consulates have made official announcements regarding similar changes, and the existing police order (327/2557) governing extension requirements remains unchanged. Expats from the UK are advised to obtain their affidavit as soon as possible, as they are valid for six months upon issuance.

This thread is an FYI only sort of thing. I am not interested in the least in fostering discussion on what may or may not happen.

At this time ONLY the UK consulate has come out to say they're stopping the service. <- That is ALL that's confirmed.,
