What options do I have if my retirement extension was refused due to a temporary drop in bank account balance?

I'm splitting it out because while it's about a retirement extension it's not related enough to stay in there.

My retirement extension was refused yesterday because I moved the 800K from one bank account to another (same bank in Thailand) for about a month, and then back to the original Fixed Deposit account. The original account dropped below 400K when I did that. But total deposits never dropped below 800K. I was told to leave and re-enter. Are there other options?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Pete Atkinson's retirement extension was refused after moving funds between bank accounts, causing a temporary drop below the required balance. He is seeking other options after being advised to leave and re-enter Thailand. Commenters discussed the importance of maintaining sufficient bank balances and provided suggestions on documentation that could potentially support a reconsideration.

If he is married to a thai can he change the reason for extension and does he only need 400k in the account for 2 months before?

, even If he changes the reason for the next extension, still he needs to meet the requirement to keep the current extension until the day the new extension starts. Means he needs to keep his funds 400k or more until his new extension starts.

Pete Atkinson and did you have bank letters from BOTH accounts and year transaction history print outs from them as well ? That way you could show that between the two accounts the balance never went below 800K baht for the 3 months after your extension and never below 400K baht the rest of the year

How many days are left on your current extension?

Yes, I got 12 months statements and Bank Letters for both accounts. I have until the end of April on my current extension. I appreciate your expertise, thank you.

that is strange that they wouldn't accept it especially seeing as the balance was always IN a bank account (there were no missing days when you moved it to another bank) ๐Ÿ˜•

Pete Atkinson keywords, "dropped below 400k", this is the coup de gras.

You could try showing them the multiple overlapping qualifying (in your name only, accessible)account balances, but don't hold your breath, there is no wiggle room in these balances and timelines.
