TLDR : Answer Summary
The general consensus is that £2000 can be sufficient for two weeks in Thailand, assuming the traveler has already paid for flights and accommodation. Most comments suggest that this budget can cover daily expenses such as food and local transportation, especially if the individual avoids high-cost entertainment options like bars and nightlife. Budget preferences and individual spending habits vary significantly; for example, some claim that with modest spending (e.g., street food and budget accommodation), it's entirely manageable, while others argue that a more party-centered trip could quickly deplete funds. A range of experiences shared by commenters indicates that lifestyle choices play a crucial role in determining whether £2000 will last the full two weeks.
(2 weeks) For most yes! If you are stupid, careless or big spender, no

That's just over 140£ per day if you're staying for 2 weeks. Should be plenty of money.
What will you be doing everyday?
Long time / Short time? Eating, drinking, entertainment.... You should live like a king for that amount.
Just DON'T break the 3 day rule. That can easily break your funds, finances and the the rest of your stay and possibly rest of your life..... 😭😢😫 😆 🤣

Idk what some of the people are talking about, but that is plenty of money for 2 weeks. Absolutely doable! You can save some costs and have money left over. Or ball out and spend it all. I have friends that have traveling on much less is Thailand. Especially in monsoon season, very cheap.

You need more 😇

Honestly depends on your plans. I live in $2-3k a month. But if you plan to party every night, get bar girls, fall for tourist traps, eat at rooftop bars every dinner…. maybe expect to spend more.

2000 pound sterlings with economic expense can lead up to 6 months. Here are the tips to save $$$ and living well in Thailand.
1) Have a backpacker’s mindset.
2) Ask the Buddhist temples if they can accommodate your room and board (and maybe meals). Don’t take it for grant, do offer some helps like cleaning or helping the monastery’property works, etc. (maybe teaching English to the monks ?)
3)Find friends on social media and offer online tutoring in the topics that may interest them ( digital creating, Western cuisine, English,…etc.)
4) Make friends in Thai Boxing fitness centers. This will lead you further than just being a tourist because many Thai Boxing studios need a good marketing in this competitive career. You may be useful for them.
5) Street food is cheap and the quality is no less than those of the fancy restaurants.
6) Try not to use Taxi, but use GRAB, and public transportation as much as you can. Taxi drivers charge you “with the Tourist price” ,way much higher than the realistic cost. Download GRAB app in advance, the price is all standard to locals and foreigners
7)Learn some Thai language as much as you can. Speaking the language can break the wall in all situations and put you in a favor if you ask for something.
Dont take taxi ...they are overcharged..just use bolt or grab.. dont try food infront of platinum mall they are overcharged.. take note bus number 2 and 48... on greenline shopping mall area.

That’s approximate a little over 5k baht a day for two weeks. If you’re alone and behaving lol, that should be plenty. Since your flight and hotel already paid for that should definitely be more than enough.

If that 2000 is not including hotels and flight then it’s very possible. You can drink, eat non-street food daily on that budget. Now, when you start going to the clubs is when 2,000 is questionable and that’s really up to you. Let’s say I spend $2000-2500 a month on food for 2 person. This included beers, eat at street stalls, sit down restaurants, and occasional bars with friends.
Yes it will be enough after u pay your air and hotel u will ok for 2 weeks depending on your.drinking habits and pussey

I'm averaging 1500B per day in patong beach. Just eating Thai food, couple drink, couple shakes and snacks. If you want to make it last and still eat out everytime and enjoy the casual life with not that much partying you can do it for this amount for 1 person. Accommodation & travel not included.

Assuming your male Depends £2000 for how long and does the 2 k need to cover accommodation. Just come back from pattaya...bar fines 500-(1000 soi 6) girl drinks 150-180 girl, prices negociate with the girl before to take her is a must 1000-1500 short time 2000 long time more if she works out your new to the game or if shes young and hot..accomodation anything from 500-800 guest houses to 1500-2500 better hotels.food is cheap mostly beers are 65-85 in beer bars 150-180 in go go,s and monitor your beer tabs as well and obviously in go go,s bar fines and girl prices especially soi 6 and walking street are more. baht bus 10 baht a ride dont take motorbike taxis downliad bolt app and use that very good and cheap. These prices are pattaya bangkok is more and before we finish always wear protection
Just go! Who cares if you run out of money! Life’s short.

Some days 100 baht,
Some days 10.000 Baht
The 10.000 days are the most fun.
Just bring your cards, ATM’s are always near by, and it is safer to travel with cards than with cash, except the 20.000 Baht cash, you may be asked to show at Immigration
you know, I can take boat, busses and songthews for a total of 70b for the whole day, including walking and walk about 25km in a day thigh bangkok, enjoy the realt Thailand than staying stuck in tourist traps. Like go to phrapradeang or thonburi by bus.

1. Budget Traveler Scenario
Ignore the rude and sour people in the chat. Everyone has their own way of enjoying their vacation
Context: Backpacker-style trip with basic comforts.
Duration: 3 weeks
Accommodation: Hostels and budget hotels (300–600฿/night)
Food: Street food and cheap local restaurants (100–200฿/day)
Transport: Buses, trains, and occasional domestic flights
Activities: Temples, beaches, hiking, local tours
Estimated spend: £1200–£1500
Conclusion: Yes, £2000 is more than enough for a fun, frugal experience. You’ll even have leftover for souvenirs or a short splurge.
---
2. Mid-Range Tourist Scenario
Context: Comfortable trip with a mix of convenience and local flavor.
Duration: 2 weeks
Accommodation: 3-star hotels or Airbnb (1000–2000฿/night)
Food: Mix of street food, cafés, and occasional fine dining
Transport: Domestic flights, Grab/taxis, and ferries
2000 mite last you two wks if your lucky stay away from sluts & bar girls 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Like everyone has said depends on how long for and if your going to party in Bangkok/pattaya look down Islands but yeah £2000 for week 10days or if 3 weeks £4000/£5000 that gives you room for all your partying hotels if not booked food and good times🤣🤣better going with enough and being there and finding out money is low😉Thailand can be as cheep as you want or as expensive as you want your choice😉
Clive ********
For a week plenty 😂

Depends on what you want, what are you looking for.Only a beach vacation on 1 destination, eating street food, and here and there in a while going to a beachbar,1 bedroom with AC,or travelling around the country, visiting temples, attractions, bars, bargirls, every day or sometimes, high luxury resort. With this budget you can stay 3 months or 2 weeks, depending on your wishes.

Easy , I stay at some of the best super clean hostels , and eat a lot street food but Terminal 21 has the best cheap food I pay $1.38 for the best Pad Thai, usually stay Printing house Poshtel usually about $21 Aust dollars with breakfast, them my last 3 days my luxury is Maison Hotel Sukhumvit , best hotel and food… yes Iam 78 and love the place if you have £4000 that’s easy, yes I am there again in June also….happy vacation Thailand
NO BAR GIRL MONEY, with my cheap airfare I would be lucky to spend $2000 all up
Peter ******
Can’t wait when immigration starts checking funds of tourists arriving… that will weed out the 💩
a about $100 Australia for 'long time' $40 for a couple of hours, unless you want a Russian, they think they are worth more, great if you like Luba lips and pumped up boobs
In USD that would be roughly 163 per day. Depending on how much you spend getting drinks and buying drinks, I'd say yes. If you're looking for um, "hands on" trip, you'd probably need more.
depends on your partying tbh I’ve just come back i would say £100-150 a day tbh but still keep a eye on the cash , its 2 weeks correct , ps take a card just in case
yes, take 1 card for ATM's if you need more cash. He just needs to remember that in Thailand the ATM gives you your card back at the very end of the transaction. You get the cash first. Lots of people lose their cards that way.
go to Thailand and live like a farang so your journey won’t mean anything, you see the people always watching tv in the movie “The beach” ? You get the vibe 😂
relatively the same thing then. $6000 USD/month when you pay hotel/apartment out of that you can still live well. Personally, when I go in December I plan to live like a king. Lol.
that’s actually not a bad daily budget, if you’re hotel‘ing it!! I never had a day where I spent less than $100 US if I was going out. And if your inclination is to grab a woman, double that!
1000 to 1500 for lady although I don’t want everyday beer 600 food 500bt I don’t do lady drinks used to but no longer do have become a cheap Charlie I used to spend a fortune on lady drinks I may the buy the odd one but I can have has much fun without buying lady drinks . I pay around 500 a night for a guest house . Maximum I will
Spend is £100 although some
Days I may only spend £60. I once fell in love and spent a fortune I have learnt a lesson
maximum for a companion 1000 which is £23.00 then food is around £10.00 which leaves you plenty for Alcohol just avoid buying lady drinks and paying bar fines it’s easy .
Some people ring bells in bars buy lots of lady drinks fall in love and get milked like a cow you have to remember you are just a customer and you need to play the game
