ATTENTION ALL MEMBERS

IMMIGRATION HOLIDAYS DECEMBER & JANUARY

All immigration offices in the country will be closed the following days

Thursday - Dec 5th

Tuesday - Dec 10th

Monday - Dec 30th

Tuesday - Dec 31st

Wednesday - Jan 1st

That means at the end of December the last day you can go to immigrations this year will be Friday the 27th of December and the next day they will be open will be Thursday the 2nd of January 2025.

PLAN ACCORDINGLY

As always if your current stamp expires on a date the immigration office is closed (weekend or holidays) and you go the very next day they are open you can get your extension like normal, you will not be fined for the overstay, but you will get a stamp that says "overstay xxx days fine waived due to closure"

Also land entry points (borders) do not close on holidays ๐Ÿ™‚

I'm not living in Thailand yet, but curious... the overstay as mentioned by
@Tod ********
at the end of the post, although not fined, does that still go down as a small 'black mark' against one's name with Immigration?

no problem at all, won't affect anything it's an overstay due to closure of the immigration offices

Thanks for that. Does that mean consulates in Laos will be closed these days also?

@Matt ******
, each embassy/consulate has their own holiday schedule. Please check their website for their calendar.

@Ellie ******
thank. Yes I just found it and yes theyโ€™re closed on December 10. This is meant to be the day I pick up my passport. So Iโ€™m supposing that day has now been moved to December 11?
