The discussion centers around the recent crackdown on student visas in Phuket, as reported in an article. Commenters express concerns about the enforcement of visa regulations and how it affects students on ED visas. One user shares a personal experience of being scrutinized by immigration upon returning to Thailand, while others speculate about the transparency of schools regarding the enforcement dates and how it impacts student attendance.
I’m on an ED visa and went to Singapore for the weekend, came back on Sunday evening and the woman at immigration at BKK airport took over 10 minutes looking at my passport and asking what I’m doing and where I had been. She wasn’t very friendly either to put it politely.
same as bangkok, they use to tell the school what date and time, the school will sent us a sms, asking all to come in. cos normally only 2-3 of us attend classes on normal days :(
