I googled METV. The site that popped up was for 5, 10 of 20 years. How do you get one for 6 months and at what cost? Can it be had for an unlimited number of years or at least before they change the regulations again.

TLDR : Answer Summary
To apply for a 6-month Multiple Entry Tourist Visa (METV) for Thailand, you can use the online eVisa program through the Thai consulate website. It's important to check the specific consulate, like the one in London. While some expats have successfully obtained multiple METVs, experiences vary, and approval can depend on the discretion of the consulate. It's advisable to experience the visa's duration provided before seeking to apply for another or a different visa option. Costs associated with the METV may vary, so it's best to consult the consulate's website for the latest details.

Okay, people listen up, What this post isn't going to turn into is a "how many times in a row can I get an METV" thread.

NO ONE knows that answer but the consulate you're dealing with when you buy your METV.

I know people who have got an METV maxed it out with the 9 months stay, went back to their country and got another one without issue,

However with that being said

I know people who have got one, but were denied getting another one from their thai consulate.

So whether you can or can't do it rests entirely with the consulate you're dealing with.

Good luck to each and every one of you. The METV is a viable visa to get close to 9 months of stay here out of it IF you get the visa as close to when you're coming here as you can, AND if you time the bounces out and back correctly with the 30 day extensions

don't get the cart before the horse, get one, come in, use it for your first 6 month stay here SEE how you like it if it works for you, THEN apply for another or look for another visa option

I can’t find the information, is there a limit to the number of 6month METVs someone can get? (In 1 year, or in a longer period?)

you can get almost 9 months out of an METV if you work the days right on it,

Whether you can get them back-2-back is between you and the thai consulate you're dealing with (seeing as you can only get an METV from the consulate in your home country or where you hold permanent legal residence).

Again, I'd say you're getting your cart before the horse,

How about getting one, comin' here, spending the 9 months you can get out of it and THEN seeing if you can get another one from the consulate in your country 🙂
