Do funds for the NON-O visa need to be seasoned for two months before applying for a retirement extension?

Quick question, when getting the funds in order for the non-O, do they have to be already seasoned for two months on your account? Or

can the seasoning be done once we have the non-O before applying for the retirement extension?

Hope my question makes sense.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The requirements for seasoning funds for the NON-O visa vary by office in Thailand. Generally, some offices allow you to apply for the initial 90-day NON-O visa once you have the necessary funds in your account, provided your current visa has enough days left to cover the application review period. However, certain offices, such as those in Jomtien, may require the funds to be seasoned for two months before applying for the initial NON-O visa. In Bangkok, for retirement NON-O visas, it is necessary to show that the 800,000 baht was transferred into the country from overseas.

Chiang Mai funds required on day of application then seasoned for 2 months before applying for a 12-month extension during your 90-day period...

If you are using TM87, you will need two copies of everything, in other words two sets of identical papers.

there is no 100% fool proof answer.

At MOST offices you can apply for the initial 90 day Non-O visa once you have the funds in your account as long as you have enough days left on your current stamp to cover the under review period (14 - 20 days depending on the office)

BUT

at some offices (Jomtien especially) you need to have the funds seasoned the 2 months BEFORE you apply for the initial 90 day Non-O visa

AND

at other offices (Bangkok especially), for retirement Non-O visas you must show the 800K baht came into the country from an overseas transfer.

You need to go check with your office

Wow

, that totally goes against every report from Chiang Mai to get the 90 day Non-O visa issued, they only require it in the account on the date you apply (not seasoned 2 months) and they don't require that you show it came in from abroad either..

I don't know why they told you it had to be seasoned the 2 months to get the 90 day Non-O visa (for retirement OR marriage as neither should require it)
