I am a British passport holder, I have already been to Mae Sai in October and extended this by 30 days at Chiang Mai immigration. I am planning to go to Mae Sai again in December to get another 30 days. By the end of this year (2019) I will only have done two land border crossings. Will I be able to do another land border crossing in February 2020?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A British passport holder is inquiring about the possibility of a third land border crossing for a 30-day visa exemption after having done one in October and another in December 2019. The response indicates that only two 30-day visa-exempt entries are allowed per calendar year, suggesting that the individual can make another entry before the year ends and that the rules reset on January 1st, allowing for more entries in 2020. Additionally, a suggestion is made to consider obtaining a tourist visa from the Thai consulate in Vientiane, Laos, as an alternative.

You might wanna think about going to the thai consulate in Vientiane Lao and BUYING a real single entry tourist visa for 1000baht rather than burning your free 30 day visa exempt entries.

That would stamp you in for 60 days and you could extend that by 30 more days at the immigration office for 1900baht.

The rule is TWO 30 day visa exempt entries by land per calendar year (Jan 1 - Dec 31).

If you've only done one visa exempt land entry this year, you can do one more this year.

On the 1st of Jan the 'calendar resets' and you could get two more 30 day visa exempt entries by land again.
