Question; Has anyone gotten a 90 day single entry Non-Immigrant Type O visa based on being over 50 (retirement) from the thai consulate in Vientiane recently?

A poster on another group was given a hand out listing requirements that I have never seen before for that type of visa.

I got my 90 day Non-O from Vientiane just by showing proof of income using the notarized consulate affidavit. I never submitted a resume, a police back ground check or a medical certificate

Those sound suspiciously like the requirements to get a year-long, multi-entry Non-Immigrant Type O-A (long stay visa) not a 90 day Non-O.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the recent experiences of individuals applying for the 90-day Non-Immigrant Type O visa based on retirement status from the Thai consulate in Vientiane. Some applicants are confused by new reported requirements such as a police clearance, medical certificate, and resume, which appear more akin to the requirements for a long-stay Non-O-A visa. Participants share their experiences and insights on the necessary documentation, highlighting inconsistencies in information and the importance of proof of income.

I think it ought to be assumed that this form and the list on it are mistakes that hopefully will be corrected

@Martin ********
and you applied for a 90 day single entry Non-O visa at the thai consulate in Vientiane?

I never needed one of those when I applied .. you normally only need a resume if your applying for a job .

All I needed was , med cert , police record check , bank account statement . All to be notified by a solicitor and bundled ..

I thought that actually meant you show a resume :O

Ok so for non o based on being over age 50 you must show proof of income and a police clearance from your home country but the medical can be from Thailand and a contract or lease agreement.
Billy *******
Well we did try to obtain a police clearance from Thailand but they said its Reserved for Teachers and people obtaining a work permit in Thailand

@Tod ********
not sure Tod. But i bet your right because they did ask where was the police clearance when i said right here in front of you its in english they could not understand it anyways

ORIGINAL POSTER
It doesn't state the police clearance needs to come from your home country. I'd bet they'd take the one you get from the Special Branch Office down in Bangkok.

So the proof of income letter was also needed

yep, either by showing the bank account with 800K baht in it (for the 3 months they require) OR by using a notarized statement from your consulate stating you get 65K baht a month

To have a long-stay retirement in Thailand (Non O). It says the same on their website, it is confusing.
