Hi everyone 👋

We are DTV holders and got our visas from our home country. In 2025 we have already flown in and out of Thailand 4 times. Each stay is usually around 3 months, then we fly to another country for a short holiday about a week and come back again.

By the end of 2025, our total time in Thailand will be around 240 days. We are planning to fly to Laos again in January and return after a week.

Just wondering if anyone here has stayed in Thailand for a similar number of days in 2025 and still had no issues re entering at the airport? We would really love to hear your experience.

We have 2 cats waiting for us in Bangkok, so we are a bit nervous about the possibility of being denied entry 😅

Thanks so much in advance!

,

I’d like to ask for advice from those who have registered a foreign marriage in Thailand and obtained Kor Ror 22 at a district office (Amphur).

I’ve heard that some Amphurs keep the original foreign marriage certificate, while others only keep a certified copy. We only have one original document, so I’m a bit concerned.

Does anyone have recent experience with an Amphur that did not retain the original and accepted copies instead?

I understand that procedures can vary by district and may change over time — just hoping to learn from others’ experiences to choose the best option.

Thank you so much in advance!

How long do we need to be away (third country, not “home”) between 60-day exemptions?

I am a solo mom with two kids, all American passports on a 60 day exemption, which is up on the 26th of Dec. I intend to get a DTV as a digital nomad, but wanted to see how it is before going through the whole process, as this is our first time in Thailand.

My rough plan is to be in Taipei for Feb/ March, and apply for Thai DTV from there. In the meanwhile, we’ll be going to Malaysia over winter break and planning to return Jan 1. We won’t be there long enough to wait for the DTV to go through, so we’d be returning for another exemption. Is 8 days long enough they would be okay with another exemption? Or would they be okay with it because it would be only our second entry?

Alternately we could stay in Thailand over break and apply for an extension but I don’t know how likely it could be refused, or if the 30 days starts the day we apply, or if it gets added to our original date.

I just arrived from Taipei to Chiang Mai 12/13/26 11:00.

The airport was not crowded.

Immigration had many officers waiting for us.

I showed the officer my DTV Visa stapled in the passport.

He asked no questions, smiled and said “ Welcome to Thailand."

I checked my passport and was correctly stamped in for 180 days.

NOTE: there was a typed document in multiple languages pasted on the immigration window saying, “Please show your hotel or address where you will be staying".

Remember this is one of the "3 Proofs"that we hear about. I was not asked but I had a reservation for a $4 hotel.

How many of you remember the other 2 "Proofs"?

Quick question, will my TM30 be valid if the land lord files it like 5 days prior to my arrival?

I rent a house with my wife, however I don’t stay in Thailand much as I have to Work in the USA while we wait on my wife’s US CR1 visa process, and I mentioned to them I’ll need the TM30.

However they want my passport page now, as if they want to do it now.

I won’t be staying long enough to have to do 90 day reporting, but I will have to get a certificate of residence to update my drivers licenses, as my first 2 years ends in February.

Concerned them doing it ahead of time will somehow cause problems later.

Lots of strong opinions on here, backed up with zero official info. Nowhere does it state that you always need a course to go back to when you leave and re-enter every 6 months. You might feel like that sounds like it should be the case, but we’re not here asking how you feel. We need official word, but we’re not likely to get it.. so we’re left with assumptions and hopes. The only thing that can guide us is other DTV holders experiences. Too much hostility on here, we’re all just trying to figure out Thailand’s bureaucracy ✌️

Hello,

In the Past I’ve visited Thailand several times without overstaying or doing visa runs.

Recent history:

• Stayed 3 weeks december 2024, went vietnam for a week in January and cameback in Thailand January for a week.

• Returned Thailand in November for 1 week, then spent 1 week in Vietnam

• Came back to Thailand, was asked a few questions but got stamped

• Left a few days for a family event and will return 6 days later

→ Total: 3 entries in 2025, all on visa exemption.

Am I fine as long as I have an onward ticket, hotel booking, and cash?

Also, is the “VIP fast track” people talk about (paying someone to get stamped with no questions) legit?
