Is the soft visa the same 5 years as the remote dtv visa ? Do you have to take a thai activity all 5 years ? Is lot of money in a american bank and a thai activity sponsor enought to get the soft visa ? Or you need to also show american tax returns and proof of american income to get the visa ??

Hi everyone,

As many of us who have lived in Thailand for a number of years know, immigration rules can shift without much warning. I wanted to hear your thoughts on the new DTV visa, particularly regarding future enforcement.

How long do you think it will be before immigration officers at airports or land borders start requesting more detailed proof from DTV visa holders—such as:

– Proof of ongoing funds (e.g., showing that the 500,000 THB minimum is still available)

– Evidence that remote workers are still actively working for the company they listed on their application

– For those who applied through the Soft Power route, confirmation that they are actually attending classes or programs (e.g., signed attendance or progress reports)

Do you think this type of enforcement is likely in the near future, or will things stay relatively hands-off?

Hi All. I hope everyone had a nice Songkran. My phone didn’t survive it! Sadly 💦

Quick question.

I’m currently in Thailand on a 90 day non O. I plan to apply for my marriage visa at my local immigration office in Nonthaburi on day 60 (I heard you maybe able to do it after 45 days, not sure if that’s true?) So I take with me:

- My passport

- My wife will be with me so she’ll have her Thai i.d

- Marriage Certificate/documents

- Supporting documents as proof of the 400,000 bht security deposit in a Thai bank account are as follows:

* Updated bank book or passbook.

* Bank letter stating that the money was deposited to the account from an overseas source not less than 2 months prior.

Anything else I need to bring with me or is that it?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Dom

Hi There,

1. I am looking at heading to Chiang Mai/ Thailand for 3 months in a month and wanting to apply for a Digital Nomad Visa. I'd love some tips on where to apply and get approval within the next month please?

1. Also, can you get a Digital Nomad Visa with a Multiple Entry option?

DTV extension.

The officer said came back next week and bring back bank certificate that must be last updated and new employee recommendation with new date.

He said other documents are all ok and also suggest to make 90 days report. I think he will be approved if i can give those documents.

But

I just wanna know because he does not give new appointment for me. When i come back next week, I think Officer will be randomly selected .

Can Another officer know officer today suggestion by searching in the system ?Or, will another officer start from beginning when i come back immigration?

Before giving you the key points on obtaining my DTV Muay Thai visa, I would like to thank this wonderful community for providing us with all the necessary information.

Key points:

I applied for my visa in Hanoi

I found a Muay Thai club in Koh Samui

I had part of the 500,000 baht in cryptocurrency, and it wasn't a problem (contrary to what I had read on this group, in HCMC)

I provided my bank statements (for the last 3 months) in French

I received it in a week (from Monday evening to the following Monday afternoon)

I then had it printed in A5 format and laminated, I presented it at the airport, and my passport was stamped for 180 days

There you go! Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions 😉

Hey all.. been ‘travelling’ around Thailand for the past few months. Now got to a point where I’ve realised it’s somewhere I’d settle for the short-medium term.

Work freelance for multiple clients (some UK based, Swiss, UAE). Income over £2500/month - can get the 500,000 baht ‘savings’ for the DTV visa.

Has anyone tried applying for this without an agent? I’m looking for potential blockers that one may not be aware of without advice.

I have invoices, can get letters from my clients confirming employment - I can showcase work.

The only thing I don’t have is UK tax returns as I have been outside of the UK for some time ‘travelling’.

Could this void the application? How many months of bank statements have people put through?

I have done research on all of the above, and have answers, but I’d also like to collect some first-hand experiences if anyone has applied for the DTV in the past year without a visa agent.

(Or knows anyone who has…)

Enjoy your week!

EDITED: P.S. my husband, who as stated below,, already has his Non-b and a registered business in Thailand, and will be my sponsor. My remote work is commission based.

To obtain a DTV visa, there is the 500,000 thb required, some people stipulate that 30 days are accepted while others stipulate 3 months are needed.

The 500,000 thb is not a problem, however, there is also the "letter of sponsorship" option. Has anyone applied with the letter of sponsorship?

My husband has a Non-B with work permit and registered business, and I work remotely for a company in South Africa.

Initially we were going to go the Non-O dependent visa route, but due to the remote work I'd actually prefer the DTV (can't work on Non-O obviously).

I'm currently in Thailand on a 60-day visa exempt and realize I would need to apply from outside of Thailand.

My ultimate would be to find employment over here and also just go the Non-B route, but it's a bit tougher than expected because I unfortunately don't hold a degree.

Thank you, and looking forward to receiving positive and helpful comments.
