TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion addresses the best countries for applying for a marriage visa, particularly highlighting Malaysia and Myanmar for those who can meet the financial requirements (proof of 400K baht or monthly transfers). It also mentions alternative options in Laos and Vietnam without the need for proof of funds.

Okay, IF you have proof of 400K baht in a bank account you can go to Penang Malaysia, Yangon Myanmar, to get the year-long, multi-entry Non-O visa based on marriage.
IF you don't want to show proof of funds you can go to the thai consulate in Savannakhet Lao or HCMC Vietnam and get a year-long, multi-entry Non-O based on marriage to a thai without showing proof of funds.
Would the same apply for an O visa based on having a Thai born dependant... Meaning that a person applying would not have to show proof of funds? (If going to HCM or Sav?)
The real question IS, do you meet the proof of funds (400K baht in a thai bank account in your name only or 40K baht a month being transferred into a thai bank account in your name only every month)?
the problem is at the moment i am sitting at thai immigration now in chiangmai looking to do another year but the statement from the bank states that they have been messing about with our money so the immigration dont like it although the monies never left the bank this has been an internal thing which shows up in my statement sitting here waiting for an answer from immigration so the worst scenario if i have to leave the country where would the best one to go for a year visa
