TLDR : Answer Summary
Amnesty extensions for all visa types in Thailand, except long-term extensions (e.g., retirement, marriage, employment, education), have been approved until April 30. This means that those whose visas are set to expire during this period will be automatically extended without needing to visit immigration. Various community comments clarified specific situations regarding automatic extensions, requirements for long-term visas, and how to handle 90-day reporting.

I came on feb 14 on non exempt 30 day, I extended once until April 13. I then did the Covid extn (I went early on April 1). I got 7 days on top of the 13th (or 20 days from my visit) to April 21st when I hv to show up to get another 15 (or maybe 23 to make 30??).

So does this mean i dont hv to go until April 30 to get another 12 or 13 days? Or i can go on 21st to get the 15 (or maybe 23) to take me upoto May 12 (- the 30 days from April 13th?) Seems to make little difference (go on 21st or go on 30th) in my situation.....

you are extended until the 30th of april automatically, and anything else is cancelled You aren't gonna get more time past that now.

Just to confirm, I arrived from Korea on a visa exempt entry (30 days) on Feb 28th I am currently on my 30 day extension until April 27th.. does this mean I do not have to go to immigration now or leave by the 27th?

Am now granted stay until at least April 30th now..

Hopefully the date will get pushed further back from April 30th as well, any thoughts?

I have a stamp until March 18th with 10 extra days for consideration. Do I still need to go to immigration in the 18th to bring my Visa to the 28th? Or will that be done automatically now?
Nimul ***********
@Tod ********
NVM in this madness I thought it was March my stamp is for April 18th. Thanks. So I get 2 extra days out of this...
Tod *********
ORIGINAL POSTER
you should be good until the 30th of April
Nathaniel *********
This is for people that arrived after 1st March?
Tod *********
ORIGINAL POSTER

Tod *********
ORIGINAL POSTER
you should be good with the automatic extension until the 30th of Aprik
Dewi **********
Is this Amnesty applied for Non imm ED visa too? Mine is expired on April 19. Can’t get the extension anymore.
Tod *********
ORIGINAL POSTER
it says all visas, but I'd sure contact your school OR go to your immigration office and find out.
Richard *************
Still a bit in the fog I think

I am having a 3 month non o. Which the end date is 11 April. I can normally extend for 60 days. What would be the deal for this? Do I need to go to immigration or do I get also the extension until the 30th April automatically?
Tod *********
ORIGINAL POSTER
It would appear you're good until the 30th, BUT you probably COULD go get the 60 day visit family extension like normal
Anthony *****
My visa: non-imm ED

Expires 22 April

Passport: New Zealand

I don’t think I fall into this new rule.

Do I have to leave the country?

Is there a way for me to extend?
Anthony *****
Hey todd. Thanks for replying.

I’m on a Muay Thai student visa and they only do 6 months total.

I’m already at the end of my 6 months so I don’t think I can extend
Tod *********
ORIGINAL POSTER
get documents from your school and apply for an extension like normal
Mick *******
What about the 90 days report? Do we still have to go to immigration?
Rz ***
@Tod ********
I entered on Feb 2 and stamped till May 1st.

So do I get a 30 day extension till May 31st?

If so then where do I need to go to get the extension? Thank you
Gregor **********
you will have to contact your embassy and ask them
Ellie *******
1 year (or until the contract ends) extension is only available for Non-B. Or apply for normal extension (without meeting requirement) then receive 7 days stamp to get out Thailand.

Or if it is still the case at the end o April, you maybe able to apply for COVID-19 extension, You need letter from your embassy to state you cannot leave the country because of situation.
Gregor **********
from your Embassy, confirming that you are unable to fly back to your home country. with this letter, applicants receive 30 more days admitted stay
Gregor **********
you can still get the Covid19 Embassy letter allowing you 30 more days but you will have to visit Immigration
Ellie *******
there is no 30days extension for NON-B...
Ellie *******
what type of visa do you have?
Adri ********
I still haven't used my embassy letter for the extension due to covid 19. My Visa extension will end on May 2. Will I be able to to use the letter to stay until June then ?
Tod *********
ORIGINAL POSTER
unknown, at this time there is no indication about how things will work. How about we get TO may and we find out then?
Andrew *********
Hi Tod, for people on Non-B who usually have to do visa runs every 3 months, can they do it on the >30th or ...? Thanks.
Tod *********
ORIGINAL POSTER
they are extended until the 30th, and no one knows what will happen on that date.
Wayne ********

Tod *********
ORIGINAL POSTER
you're covered until the 30th of April
Adam ******
I arrived 16th Feb on visa exemption, and got extension until 15th April. Do I need another extension or am I waived until 30th April?
Wannikea *********
Waived

Is APEC stamp (90 days with business purporses) covered as well? Any idea?
Shawn ********
Question: my visa which I purchased expired on 12 March, however I have a 30-day extension which expires on 11 April. Is this extended until 30 April?
Tod *********
ORIGINAL POSTER
as it is written it would appear that yes you get an extension until the 30th of April
Sam ******
So do we actually have to go to immigration?
Sam ******
so you won't get any stamp, basically as long as you were legal up until today you are assumed to be legal until the 30th of April correct?
Tod *********
ORIGINAL POSTER
nope, they were turning people away this morning. you ONLY go if you are on a long term extension (marriage, employment, retirement, raising children etc)
Antonia ***************************
Hi Tod sorry! Im confused and cannot call any of the numbers.

I flew in from Cambodia on visa exempt 15 February and got my extension to 14th April. British.

Is mine automatic
Tod *********
ORIGINAL POSTER
would appear that it is extended until the 30th of April according to how it's written.

@Henry ********
you are misunderstanding. IF you are on a year extension of stay (FOR ANY REASON) and your extension is going to expire you need to go apply for a new extension, There is NO sliding the date to after the 30th of April. NOTHING like that was written into the policy. This does NOT concern year or long term extension holders you go get your extension like normal
Henry *********
Thanks for clarifying. So people who avoid making the trip for a new extension during the amnesty, will still be fined for overstaying, if they wait until the crisis is over? Of course, doing your Extension now should be easy as all the tourists and 90 day reporters will not be there!
Luke ******
@Tod ********
How about ED Visas that expire before April 30?
Luisa ************************
My 90 days report is on April 12, so i’ll have to go to Immigration Office to do the reporting on April 30? 🤔
Han ********
@Luisa *****************
yes me too, will see how it will develop, it says: Foreigners who are due to file a 90-day report between March 26 and April 30 have also been temporarily exempted until further notice.
Dave ******
@Luisa *****************
If you are doing 90 day reports it means you are on a long term extension. Read the post again. You can do your 90 day report using the online sytem. If not then you will need to do it in person at the immigration office.

@Tod ********
I am on a 1 year multiple entry marriage visa from Savannahkhet. It expires May 10th, but I have to leave again on April 12th. Do I still need to go to the immigration to make a 60 day extension or am I part of the automatic extension from the government? Thanks.
Daniel ********
I thinks it's a good call save the extensions, but I don't think i fancy waiting in huge crowds when the free extensions finish.
Skyler *****
I would suggest saving all your extensions until after they stop giving us free auto extensions. But your call.
Tod *********
ORIGINAL POSTER
you could go get the 60 day visit thai family extension

OR

as it's written it says you get an extension until the 30th of April automatically
Lee *************
After entering on the 30 day visa exemption, I got the standard additional 30 days, and then applied and got a covid-19 extension with an under consideration stamp saying to come back to immigration on April 19th. If accepted, I should get a new stamp to May 4th. Do I still need to go???
Wannikea *********
Right now your good till the 30th, stay at home.
Tod *********
ORIGINAL POSTER
you are automatically approved until the 30th of April according to what's written
Jelly ******
So if my non imm O ME stamp expires 23rd, can I wait to do a 60 day extension until the 30th?
Wannikea *********
23rd of what month? If you mean April 23rd, your automatically extended till the 30, and you can decide what to do then.
Philip *********
My non imm O also is also due for the 60 day renewal on the 23rd. Wondering if I can still go that day to avoid the logjam on the 30th
Anna ***********
@Tod ********
: Why are You mention those exceptions? Where you got that information as announcement says ALL visa types?
Tod *********
ORIGINAL POSTER
those are EXTENSIONS OF STAYS <- those are NOT visas
Myles *******
What ‘section’ do Non B visa holders with 90 day bounces(renew entry stamp every 90 days)fall under pls? Is that what they call ‘border pass’? Stamp expires 13th April and as Im reading it I now have until 30th April and if extended 30th May and then once borders open 7 days to get a new entry stamp?
Tod *********
ORIGINAL POSTER
nope, nothing to do with a border pass <- that's Lao, cambodians and burmese who BUY a border pass every day and were stuck in the country when the borders close

You on year-long, multi-entry Non-Immigrant visas (where you bounce every 90 days) get an extension until April 30th
Brian **********
Wow Great !! And if. It finishes on 30 April .. Will be long Queues then
Hua-Jane *******
@Br***
hi, my regular visa will ends in April 30th, so it means I have to go to Immigration on that day or will it be automatically extended to May 30th?
Ksenia **********
I had 2+1 visa till 23th of March, and "under consideration stamp" after (no overstays). So my visa extension is in "under consideration " status on 26 and now.

No information about this.
Bobby ********
@Ksenia *********
. So you used your embassy letter to get the additional 15+15 days? This isn't clear in your commo
Peter ********
That is good news. I know this remains to be seen. But if we apply for the first extension (a normal one) , would be able to when it gets closer? And would the requirements for that still be the same as before ?
Peter ********
Sounds good. Mine is a visa exemption that arrived on March 19, which qualifies for an auto extension. And Im in Bangkok . Closest one I'd be going to would be Muang Thong Thani which I have heard and seen them turn people away for an extension. Could go there in person and ask. But I may be better off waiting until it gets closer to that date.
Peter ********
I'm only asking if we would be able to seek a normal extension before April 30th, if needed to? (which we would hope not as they may possibly extend that beyond April 30th).
Tod *********
ORIGINAL POSTER
I don't even know what question you're asking :( the requirements for the extensions didn't change, the only thing that changed is peoples stamps are now extended until the 30th of April.
Joaquina ****************
If I arrived in Thailand on March 17 with visa exemption, do I have to go to Immigration to obtain the 30-day extension that I need?
Tod *********
ORIGINAL POSTER
if you arrived in thailand on the 17th of March you got stamped in until the 15th of april <- meaning your stamp expired AFTER the 26th of March and you get the automatic extension
Ulli ********
hi, is notification of change of address also suspended?
Andy *******
OK so TM30 will be at it's usual place @ CW, thx
Andy *******
wondering if TM30 will be moved back to CW (wait and see today)
Tod *********
ORIGINAL POSTER
nope, only 90 day reporting as far as the notice reads. I don't see that TM30 OR TM28 was suspended
