TLDR : Answer Summary
Damian McClure inquired about whether a rental agreement is needed for his wife's visa application since she rents an apartment and doesn't have a house book. The responses clarified that he actually needs to provide copies of specific documents like the Thai ID, house book listing, and marriage certificate for the one-year non-O multi-entry visa application, without the need for a rental agreement.

If you were married to a Thai outta NZ an alternative to having a ceremony here and run with her married surname, is to get the NZ marriage Cert translated and validated, go to Amphoe Office where wife wife is still registered and have her name changed to the new "Farung" surname. They give you a pink certificate with green and yellow and blue floral type border, which shows her new name. Her Thai ID card and Thai passport will then also be in the farung surname...

which while anecdotally interesting has NOTHING to do with the O/P asking about what his thai wife's house book listing is

You need these documents to get the year long, multi-entry Non-O in Savannakhet. Not one more not one less. This is all you need

-the original rose bordered marriage certificate

copies of:

-front&back of the rose bordered marriage certificate

-front&back of your thai wife's i/d card

-thai wife's house book listing

-data page of your passport

-lao visa & entry stamp

you also need 2 passport sized photos, a filled out application along with 5000baht.

She signs the things with her name on them, you sign the things with yours <- meaning you BOTH sign the marriage certificate copies ;)

There is no need for a rental agreement, You need copies of the front and back of her thai i/d AND a copy of the front page of the thai house book and then her listing in it. Those things and the marriage certificate copies (and original) will be all you need from her

Okay, listen up. Your wife knows where she's listed in a house book, even if you (the foreign husband) are totally clueless about it.

She's most likely listed in her parents house book. That's what you need a copy of
