Sorry edited this because it now seems that Chinese, Kazaks, Indians and Taiwanese cannot get a 30 day extension on their entry stamp. Super sorry for the bad info
TLDR : Answer Summary
Recent updates to Thailand's visa entry allowances include changes for residents from Hong Kong, Macau, Mongolia, Vietnam, Laos, Russia, China, Kazakhstan, India, and Taiwan. Hong Kong and Macau nationals can obtain a 30-day visa waiver with a one-time extension, while Russians receive a 90-day entry with no extension allowed or possibility of conversion to any visa. Chinese and Kazakhstan nationals can also stay for 30 days with a possible extension, although offices may not always approve it. The situation for Indian and Taiwanese citizens mirrors that of the Chinese and Kazakhs, with similar restrictions on extensions. The information provided is subject to changes, and discrepancies have been noted in recent confirmations from official sources.
