Hello, my DTV visa was approved recently and i was going to start using it in May but some family circumstances force me to head back sooner to Europe.
I don’t want to loose the DTV so i plan to only stay a week in TH and i don’t know when i will come back…normally 5-6 months after.
Is it a problem or i can do whatever i like since anyway my DTV is valid for 5 years ?
I wonder if an immigration agent can be surprised i only used it for one week and wait many months to come back…
For those who applied for DTV online in Taiwan, did you submit application for main visa holder and dependents all at once? Or main visa holder first and dependents later?
I want to go to and apply from HCMC in the coming days. I believe I have to show proof that I’m staying in the country. Ideally I want an Airbnb for two weeks, but when I asked chatgpt, it said that’s not really proof of longer term stay, like a rental agreement. Has anyone experience with this? Any recommendations?
Thanks to the group my application went through smoothly, I found it helpful when I was planning to go to Hanoi reading the latest updates. Here's a brief run down of my process, hope it helps someone else too.
Application for soft power - Muay Thai. UK national.
- Documents from the gym.
- 6 months statements from savings account with the funds.
- Vietnam entry stamp, booking.com confirmation and a few selfies with hotel, pics of room key and payment receipt.
- Recent photo (I almost used the one from my passport but it was pretty much a year ago now that was issued and they will notice).
- Passport bio page.
- Unemployed - No income currently.
I gave 2 weeks before my intended arrival date, I was concerned about priority being shown to those with shorter arrival dates but this didn't affect my application.
I wasn't sure if they would ask for proof of my intended address in Thailand or proof of my flight in to the country. To avoid issues I booked a room in Bangkok that is free to cancel before the date. I used onward ticket and gave that flight number, in hindsight this wasn't necessary, just the address and a flight number required, but it gave me peace of mind as I wasn't sure.
I had filled out most of the application already, flew to Hanoi late Monday. First thing on Tuesday I sumbitted the finished application, manually input my details, triple checked everything. By late morning on Wednesday it change to pending approval and then Friday evening I got the email come through (4 business days total) - note; it did land in my junk mail, so be sure to check yours.
Heading back to Thailand sooner than anticipated, happy days!
I am from the UK and have permission from my employer to work remote long term (Web Developer for UK clients)
I will be applying for my DTV visa at the start of next month.
My employer has sent me a new updated contract stating I work for a UK company and work remotely.
My main question is:
My 500k Baht is currently in investments and my checking account has not had that amount of money in for some time.
From what I have read it is okay to sell my investments and move the money into my bank account however I won't have proof that it has been there for longer than 1 month (I see people saying it needs to be in the account for 3/6 months)
I do however have regular employer payments going into the account
Do you think l will be okay applying?
I am applying online via the thaievisa.go.th site, not through an embassy in person. Unless I am misunderstanding this?

I will have to do my 1st (90 days) renewal of my DTV visa.
1- What documents do I need to provide?
2- Has any of you ever left Thailand with the DTV visa before 180 days (or before the extension)?
If so, could you explain to me if you had to do a particular procedure and if when you returned your visa was 180 days again (without doing the actual extension)...
Thank you very much for your help

Bonjour, pourriez vous me renseigner svp ?
For the DTV: Is there an exact list of what is allowed as soft power? For example, do language courses also count? Who has official info or a list???

Für das DTV: Gibt es eine genaue Liste was als soft Power alles zugelassen ist? Zählen zum Beispiel Sprachkurse auch dazu? Hat wer offizielle Infos bzw eine Liste???
I'm planning to apply for a DTV visa in Vientiane, Laos. I have all the documents ready. As a Korean citizen, I know the visa fee (10,000 THB) should be waived when applying online.
But I heard that in Vientiane, they don’t accept online processing and still charge 10,000 THB — even for countries that are supposed to be exempt.
I also watch some Korean YouTubers paid 10,000 THB there last year.(just after dtv visa appears)
So I’m wondering — did they pay by mistake, or does Vientiane charge everyone regardless of exemption?
For people from visa fee-exempt countries, do you think it's better to avoid applying in Vientiane?
