TLDR : Answer Summary
The best time to visit Thailand is subjective and varies depending on individual preferences regarding weather and crowd levels. Many travelers and residents agree that the rainy season can offer lush landscapes, cheaper prices, and smaller crowds, while others prefer the peak season for better weather and lively atmospheres. The comments suggest that there is no universally 'bad' time to visit, as different regions in Thailand experience varying weather conditions throughout the year. From March during the hot season to the shoulder months like July or the rainy season in September, travelers share their favorite times based on personal experiences, highlighting that enjoying Thailand's culture and people often outweighs concerns about the weather.
😂😂your loss, get a wise card and put your dollars into a currency that will go up . The Baht is very strong , perhaps too strong, I know they are looking at depreciating the baht.

Depends. I live in Hua Hin and the onslaught isn't so bad here. In fact it livens the place up a little. But Pattaya without doubt. When I lived there I always got pizzed off with 2 week millionaires booking my regular freelancers at this time of year

I love the wet season, cheaper hotels and less crowded. Also not too hot and the rain is usually only for an hour or so in the evening.

Interesting comments, Thailand is different al over , the seasons aren’t all exactly the same. It is a long way from the very north to the very south. There isn’t any beaches in the North and most of central Thailand . Some great opportunities to see Thailand outside of the Northern hemisphere winter
I am here now too the weather is nice bangkok is slamming with tourist right now so was Hua Hin compared to what it is during slow season

At my first home in a rice farming village in Isaan, we loved the rain. We could stand out in it with a bottle of shampoo, a bar of soap and get free showers. 😂😂😂.

I ❤️ the peak season!!
Excellent weather and love the hustle and bustle!

We are planning a family trip in March. We don’t mind hot weather at all so hoping to avoid crowds a bit and not be in tons of rain?? Any advice is appreciated! 💛
March is one of the high season months and he’s also one of the hottest. Best for being around the islands that time of year because blue skies and all islands open and running tours without fear of rain or storms
Couldn't agree more, less crowds, more availability, low season rates!

Xmas time is the best time in BKK for the weather, those sub 30C days are so nice, thats the only positive though

for south thailand january to september, maybe october is good. considering the last 2 years i would avoid november / december as that seems to be stormy season now. while rainy season that started in May was very mild with mostly perfect days

In related news, the best time to travel is not rush hour
It also happens to be winter in the Northern Hemisphere as well so plenty of people from Europe, the UK and the parts of the USA escaping for the cold..
i live in Jomtien lucky i can walk or catch baht bus because traffic is terrible but i have found a few places to get away for a month during the peak months
tounge in cheek remark, as a hiker being in 40 mph winds and horizontal rain in Scotland is fun. Thankfully OK in Thailand here although a little chilly in the mornings
You are in a different part of Thailand I assume, here not chilly in the mornings and even on the days with rain whole day temperatures minimal 24 degrees in the night.
I do not hate rain, and I really like a hefty thunderstorm, but complete grey days, no sun and rain the whole day I do not like.
Then it feels like I am at home in Netherlands only a lot hotter.
Indeed people from the Netherlands you find almost everywhere, but here in deep south of Thailand, Songkhla and Hat Yai I don't see any western tourists.
At some touristic spots here Asian tourists see mee as an attraction and want to be pictured with me.
But about the weather, normally here November and December are the 2 months with the most rain, but not as extreme as this year when it caused severe floodings killing people and stopping all traffic more than once.

I live here all year round.
I prefer the rainy season because we can explore different hotels at 50% less Price wise.
and people act like it rains 24-7 during the rainy season. Normally sprinkles in the afternoon and maybe rains in the middle of the night. I like it because it cools things off.
…. The troubles of the North …, I get it , but it’s alarmist when apps says it’s the worst air in the world at times …. Those apps evidently never went to Delhi …
I prefer to take any trip to another country during "shoulder season" as I find the smaller crowds and somewhat lower prices more than makes up for the weather. My favorite time to visit Rome is late fall or winter. I'm already going to be walking a ton anyways so just add some layers and it's beautiful!!
Unfortunately for me, Thailand is not a purely holiday destination so I don't get to decide when I go based on the season. I greatly prefer a few hours of rain to jam-packed roads and waiting for a seat at the hotel breakfast. I sure miss Covid when it comes to that aspect.
thats definitely low season in Thailand 🤷🏻♂️ European and American tourists coming when its summer holiday there are a minority of the general tourists here.
Its other asian countries like China and India that makes up for the majority of tourists here. And nowadays Russians as well,
