TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about the optimal time to apply for a one-year extension on their Non-O visa, which is based on marriage, before its expiration on June 13. It was advised to apply for the extension once they have 30 days or less remaining on their current visa stamp, which would be around May 28. The extension will start from the current expiration date regardless of when the application is submitted.

then you are good to do as soon as you get down to 30 days or less on your current stamp.
Some immigration offices allow you to do it when you have 45 days or less (Chiang Mai, Bangkok, Buriram, Phuket, and I think Krabi)

Either the borders open before the 13th of June (when your VISA expires) so you can bounce out and back to get a NEW 90 day entry stamp
OR
they don't and you can apply for a yearly extension when you have 30 days or less left on your current stamp (the 60 day visit thai family extension) so about any time AFTER about May 28th.
There really is no "maximize your stay" because extensions are ADDED to your current expiration date so the year extension will start on the 20th of June no matter when you apply.
As long as you meet the seasoning requirements for the proof of funds you're good to apply when you have 30 days or less left on this stamp

And you have a year-long, multi-entry Non-O visa based on marriage?
