How can we maintain a respectful community for visa-related questions in our group?

ATTENTION MEMBERS:

I will caution people once again that this is not a f/b group where you can denigrate or put people down who ask questions (no matter how nonsensical or irrelevant those questions may be to you).

I'm just gonna start blocking people rather than warning them.

This is a group designed to provide accurately and timely visa/extension information so people can stay in thailand.

You don't wanna help answer questions, by all means don't, BUT putting people down or asking snide comments about posts or posters will not be tolerated.

Sorry if that sounds heavy handed, but if you can't act like grown-ups by all means leave the group and go get your visa/extension information some place else.

Thanx for your cooperation and understanding.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A call to group members to foster a supportive environment for asking visa-related questions without fear of ridicule. The moderator emphasizes the importance of respectful interactions and threatens to block individuals who dismiss or belittle those seeking assistance. Several members express support for these guidelines, sharing their own experiences with harsh comments in similar groups and underscoring the need for a safe space for expats navigating Thailand's visa processes.

Well said ... some questions may seem self evident... but no to the person asking them. we had a rule in the Fire service .. no matter how simple a question always ask it.... it may save some ones life ... and with visas it seems a minefield to me ... pleased there are people like you to help me

Tod Daniels completely on point!

They say no good deed goes unpunished.....

And I wouldn't be surprised if that has been a rather bitter pill to swallow for whoever moderates on this site etc etc....

Thanks for the service and info etc yiu aim to / succeed in providing.

Sadly, this person seems to think that profanity and obscene language are the norm.

Im surprised they have not been removed from Facebook.

(Trying to incite people to attack someone)

Definitely not needed in this happy group. πŸ˜„

Something like that should be posted in every group. Every time I have any question I would like to ask in any kind of group - I feel nervous to post it as I faced so many aggressive comments to some simple questions. I feel bad for ppl that are so unhappy that they like to tease others. Or whatever it is. Thanks for the post.

What on earth makes people so inclined to be snippy? I surmise it's the immediacy of spewing bile right onto the phone or keyboard, rather than having to actually interact with another human being.
