DTV Visa Madrid consulate on Mexican passport as a remote worker.
Applied on August 4, three days later I got an email from the consulate asking me for a letter in which I explained how intended to earn money while I’m in Thailand, they also asked for a document called “Vida laboral” (social security enrolment confirmation and history of contributions).
I replied immediately and they got back to me a couple of hours after that asking me for tickets from Europe to Thailand. The consulate approved my visa in Friday evening, took 5 working days and entered chiang mai today, no questions asked at immigration.
I'm a US citizen and have visited Thailand many times over the years, always with the visa-exempt 30/60 day stamp. But times have changed and I want a long-term visa and I'm considering all options, including the DTV Muay Thai option. My question concerns age: I'm 60+ and worried that if I apply for the DTV Muay Thai, it will be denied based on my age. Anyone else had this issue?
I run an online business and my account balance meets the DTV requirement - however, I can't leave Thailand for longer than 4 or 5 days.
Quick question: Is it possible to enter a country around Thailand to apply for DTV visa, and leave after a few days - and then once the DTV visa processing is done, come back to that country and go back into Thailand on DTV visa? So 2 quick visits in total.

I want to move to Nong Khai, Thailand with a DTV, using the medical treatment - soft power option. It has very been difficult to get good information. I've contacted the hospital in Nong Khai but is there a better first step?
Hi, has anyone on a DTV soft power visa been asked to show proof of ongoing classes when reentering after the 6 month period? And how did you handle the situation if yes. Thanks!
I’ve been digging into the latest updates on visas for Thailand, especially around DTV and retirement options. Some of the changes seem small on paper but could make a big difference for those of us planning longer stays. Curious if anyone here has gone through the process recently and noticed anything new or unexpected?
On a side note, while sorting out my long-term plans here, I’ve also been keeping an eye on the US stock market. With all the swings lately, it’s been tricky deciding whether to hold or move things around. Feels like the same kind of patience and timing we need for visa applications.
