My husband and I are Canadian citizens and want to apply for the DTV visa for Thailand (applying in Canada).
We only have one personal bank account which us joint between the two of us.
Are we both able to use this same bank account to show the proof of funds (THB 500,000) as per the application requirements? Will we need to then have THB 1 million?
Would a cashable GIC be accepted as proof of financial standing?
Recently obtained my employment contract (remote) from my company as a remote worker where it’s states that I can work in Thailand but not for Thai companies.
Will my DTV request be rejected if I’m not applying from the country of employment origin?
As per example Vietnam or some other neighboring country.
I’m currently in Kathmandu, Nepal, holding a Chinese passport, and planning to apply for the DTV visa here.
Has anyone here applied for a DTV visa in Nepal before?
From what I read on the Kathmandu Thai Embassy website, it seems to be the same process as in other countries (like Vietnam): using the online e-visa platform with the same set of documents.
However, I’m a bit concerned that there might be some additional requirements or local differences I’m not aware of. Could anyone kindly share your experience? Should I just follow the steps on the online e-visa platform, or is there anything else I should prepare in advance?
Im at the start of preparing my application for the DTV and I have a few things I would like clarifying if anyone can?
1) I understand that the DTV costs 10,000 baht and that is the only fee I pay regarding the visa itself and that is for 5 years (please correct me if Im wrong)
2) I also understand that if I choose to leave the country when my renewal is due, I avoid immigration and the fee that comes with extending the stay?
If this is the case, is the renewal due every 6 months?
3) If for example, I choose the cooking course, am I required to attend for the first 6 months only? I have a genuine interest in learning cooking anyway so this would be my choice rather than Muay Thai which I have zero interest in
4) Has anyine completed a cooking course that could advise me the approximate cost of the course and at the same time, possibly recommend a course
The way I am seeing things in my minds eye is that subject to submitting a successful application, I arrive in Thailand stamped with the DTV for 6 months where I attend classes for that duration. Once the 6 months is up, I can leave Thailand and return for a fresh uninterrupted 6 months and continue this for the 5 years WITHOUT the obligation to continue with the classes, as 5 years of cooking would lead me to be a Michelen star chef!! 😁
I am over 50 and qualify for the retirement visa but I dont feel this is the best choice for me right now. I will look at the retirement visa if and when I feel like I am going to put serious roots down
Im currently in the UK and will be applying form here. Is everything done online or will I be asked to attend a Thai consulate here in England
I am currently on an ED visa but I am currently back in the UK (been back for 3 weeks).
I have a re-entry permit.
Over the last 3 weeks, i gained inheritance money, i have secured an online remote working job, which all ties in perfectly to apply for a workcation DTV.
I want to apply for the DTV as this would be perfect for me, but conscious I am on the ED visa still with a re-entry permit already paid for. I also already have my return ticket to thailand booked and i leave Aug 31 (not much time).
Am i able to apply for the DTV and cancel my ED visa once approved and then return to Thailand? I can start the application now but i only want to if i know i can cancel my ED visa once i get the DTV approved.
I'm in the process of applying for a non o visa here in the UK but I'm having issues uploading the 3 months bank statements 😢. Can I put them in a zip file and upload that?
Sorry I'm not very computer savvy and I'm struggling with the pdf merge tool I've tried using (pdf guru). They have sent me a merged pdf file but when I try to view it, I'm just seeing blank pages 🤷.
I stupidly, initially sent them in a screenshot.... Bad move, they requested more info, so I'm going into panic mode now.
I really hope you guys can help me with this 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thank you in advance for any info and advice ❤️🇹🇭❤️
