My husband and I are planning to retire and move to Chiang Mai, arriving on Sept 1st. I know we need to apply for the Non-O Retirement Visa and that we should do the application in our home country (United States). My question is: how soon in advance of our planned arrival should we start the application process online with the Thai embassy? I understand we’ll have 90 days to complete the process once we apply and I know we’ll need to open a Thai Bank account and deposit 160,000 Baht once we get there. Any guidance on timing and order of operations would be helpful as I wasn’t entirely clear on this from my research. Thanks in advance for the advice!
Is it usually easier for Vietnam to apply for DTV than other countries around Thailand? Some friends and I successfully applied in Vietnam, but we haven't tried to apply in other countries yet.
Hi all ,just for info , paid for non o in Vientiane this morning , got email 10 minutes later asking for clearer pictures ,submitted and visa issued in an hour !
I just returned back from seven weeks in Thailand and loved everything about the country.
I currently have a job in Canada that allows me to be 100% remote, I’ve consulted a few different agency’s to streamline the DTV process.
My question is I’m getting quoted between 14,000 thb all in (their fee, review and embassy fee) upto 16,000 thb for their fee and 8,000 thb embassy fee. If the Canadian embassy fee is $650 (15,100 thb) alone. How are some of these reputable agency’s charging as low as 14k all inclusive?
Excuse me if this has been asked before, I'm unable to find anything. When applying for a DTV can you specify a date in the future you wish it to start or is it activated when you arrive in Thailand.
Can I apply now, Feb to arrive in Thailand in October?
Hi, has anyone applied through 'DtvThaiVisa - best dtv agency'? They were very prompt with reverts initially, but since the time i have paid them, they have stopped reverting. Anyone who has experienced their service? Pls let me know since it's been 2 weeks since I have paid and sent my documents to them and I am very worried now.
We have officially purchased our plane tickets and we are preparing to file for visa because we don't arrive until Aug. 3, 2026. We have been trying to connect with an agent but haven't had success in connecting. We are wondering when we file for DTV visa do we each apply separately as married or is there a joint application process?
I wanted to know one thing If I have funds equal to 5,00,000 THB but I took from my father as a gift and that transactions are really recent like last week so when exactly should I apply for DTV,
