I am planning on returning to Thailand in early January, entering on a US exemption. I want to obtain a non-o retirement visa. Do I need to transfer my 800,000 to my Thai account in November? I had thought I read “seasoning” was not required for initial application but seems this says differently?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the requirements for obtaining a Non-O retirement visa in Thailand, specifically whether they need to transfer 800,000 baht to a Thai bank account prior to the application. The comments clarify that seasoning may not be required for the initial 90-day Non-O visa, depending on the immigration office, with differing practices noted in Bangkok and Jomtien.

and if you noticed in that other post you commented in; I said they needed the 800K baht seasoned for their YEAR EXTENSION, not to get the 90 day non-O visa 😉

David Broadfoot the person whose post the person hi-jacked with their question 😉

EVERYONE needs to have the banked money in the account for 2 months before you get the yearly extension. It's immigration office specific if you need the banked money seasoned 2 months to apply for the initial 90 day Non-O visa

totally depends on the immigration office you use. In Bangkok they do not require the 800K baht banked money to be seasoned at all to apply for the 90 day Non-O visa, just in your account transferred in from abroad on the date you apply BUT other offices DO require you to have the funds seasoned (Jomtien specifically)
