What should I do if I receive belittling responses when seeking visa advice in a Thailand expat group?
Anybody who is a member of this group who don't need or want to give advice should fu@@ off and grow up. People want advice not belittling....absolute idiots

Oh, yeah, it's perfectly fine to ban people for using intelligent sarcasm and encouraging others to use their brains to solve problems, but there's nothing wrong with writing primitive insults. I certainly won't ask another question. I did a web search, AI search, and sent questions to the Thai embassy in Washington. Nothing and this group was definitely no help with the belittling comments. One and only time.

In the unlikely event of a new member ever reading this thread, a suggestion would to start a question by "I have searched the archived postings but cannot find the answer I need. (Blame Facebook, etc). So.....". You don't have to actually search, just say you have.

And therein lies the crux of the issue. Educate yourself first through search rather than rely on a myriad of opinions from people you have never met, or have had a different experience at immigration as every office has different rules. Once you have a modicum of experience you can then ask an intelligent question and get intelligent answers

, maybe you should provide some basic instructions, like sites that people should consult before they just ask that silly questions here. The laziness is not acceptable. They should spend some time googling around, visiting government sites and getting a rough idea of what is going on, and then ask, with some basic knowledge under their belts, questions from people, who would be more than happy to answer and help.
