Covid 19 extension program continued until January 25th 2022
It appears everyone (including us :P ) were wrong and the 60 day covid extension program has been continued until Jan 25th, 2022.
So there is no need to run to the immigration office this week and get another extension if you don't have a stamp running out

TLDR : Answer Summary
The COVID-19 extension program for visas in Thailand has been extended until January 25, 2022, allowing holders to keep their current status longer without rushing to immigration offices. However, it's important to note that this extension is optional and immigration offices may apply stricter requirements. Individuals who are considering applying should be prepared to demonstrate their need for the extension and may need to show proof of onward travel.

ATTENTION ALL MEMBERS:
This most recent order has a clause in it that I have never seen and says they will be more strict in the issuing of covid extensions. <- Don't exactly know what that means but I would be prepared to show why you need the extension and/or have onward travel
and when are they supposed to start to be more strict ? Start today or after november 26 ?

It means the authorities do not wish the people who taking granted on the covid extension program in performing any illegal matters or excuses to stay in the country and spoiled the good name of kingdom.
my guess is it means you need an outbound ticket to apply, the flight date of which will be recorded e.g.15 January, and that's the date the extension will be given up until with strictly no more extensions.
they don't have the ability to choose to give you less than 60 days on a covid extension ๐ฎ that clause is a 60 day extension, you either get it or you get denied and if you pushed it they would have to sell you an 'application for extension denied' get out of thailand in 7 days stamp for 1900baht instead

My friend has covid 19 extension(itโs 3rd one) until middle of December. They planning to go to BKK this night , but itโs mean they doesnโt need go to now?
presumably the IO keep a record of outbound tickets on applications. If someone were to then change their outbound ticket to apply for another covid extension, that would effectively be fraud
who knows, all you can do is try BUT I'd say they're going to tighten up on the issuing of them

Just to make sure I understand... as of now this means they will issue a visa stamp until Jan 25 and not that you can get another 2 months from Jan 25?
you can apply for an extension of stay based on being unable to travel up to 25th Jan that will (potentially} take you up to end of March (24 or 25th)

REMEMBER: Just because it was renewed does not mean the immigration office will issue the extension of stay. It IS an optional extension of stay, and some immigration offices (i.e. Bangkok) are getting strict with the requirements. Please read my post at
