Okay it appears that Steve Garner wants to know IF the immigration office and the ministry of labor are "pushing" people away from year-long, multi-entry Non-O visas based on marriage to a thai when they are employed here and "encouraging them" to switch to a year long extension based on marriage OR to switch to a Non-B visa..

TLDR : Answer Summary
Steve Garner inquired whether the immigration office and ministry of labor are discouraging expatriates on year-long, multi-entry Non-O visas, based on marriage to a Thai, from continuing with this visa type in favor of a marriage extension or switching to a Non-B visa. The comments reveal experiences of several individuals, who reported no issues with Labor while holding valid work permits linked to their Non-O visas.

no issues here, i am the OP from that post. haven't had any issues since that day, i think the IO was just having a stressful day and wanted to ask some additional questions. i have a non-o M thai spouse and a WP i have had no problem with labor. i think immigration and labour just do not talk with each other so they do not know each others rules.

I know several people employed here in Bangkok, up in Chiang Mai and down in Hua Hin who all hold valid work permits AND are ALL on year-long, multi-entry Non-Immigrant Type O visas based on marriage to a thai (the type of visa where they bounce out and back in every 90 days).

As far as I know none of them has any problems at all with the Ministry of Labour when they get their work permits.

I was NOT discouraging you from using the search bar and reading the posts that get brought up. I was wondering the advantage of resurrecting a several year old post versus just asking a new question.
